The full interview will re-air around 12:30 ET/9:30 PT.
Lev Parnas just said on MSNBC (to Ari Melber at 9:30 ET/6:30 PT) that the White House Counsel attended meetings concerning Ukraine. He reminds us that his source is what he heard from Rudy Giuliani, so when he refers to Bolton’s book, it’s because Parnas wasn’t a firsthand witness; he’s relating what Giuliani told him at the time that Bolton would have also been aware of:
PARNAS: And one of the things is that I think that the Senators are very scared for this to get out with the witnesses because it’s not just what John Bolton has to say, it’s what can of worms that are going to open up and I think that when the book comes out, there’s a lot of things that are going to start coming out, like some of the ways that Ambassador Yovanovitch was fired. I mean, it’s just embarrassing to go into it but I think that when Ambassador Bolton comes out and says because Rudy Giuliani went several times and came back and told me the situation. It’s very upsetting to see Pat Cipollone and Jay Sekulow — I mean Pat Cipollone was in several meetings and I think once the book comes out, that will be something of a revelation.
MELBER: Were you aware, Lev, of Pat Cipollone being in any meetings other than the one Bolton mentions according to the New York Times article?
PARNAS: Absolutely, there were several, Rudy Giuliani told me, and majority with him, and Mulvaney was mostly there, and Bolton was at some, Pompeo was at some, but Cipollone was at most of them, Giuliani told me.
(any transcription errors are mine)
What was the White House Counsel, whose duty is to protect the Office of the Presidency and not its current occupant, doing in meetings about either Yovanovitch or Hunter Biden? Parnas doesn’t say he interrupted and objected to what was going on.
They go on to discuss Lindsey Graham and other scuzzbuckets, but Cipollone was in most meetings about Ukraine? Can he be disbarred over this?
The program may re-air at 11:00 ET/8PM PT or at 1AM ET/10PM PT if you want to catch it; since it’s part of a 4-hour programming block called “The Impeachment Trial of Donald Trump,” it may not be available as video.
The interview will re-air at 12:30 AM ET/9:30 PM PT if you want to watch part 1. Raw Story posted video of part 2 of the interview, including Parnas’ attorney, Joe Bondy, seeming to say that SDNY wasn’t interested in what Parnas could say. Is Barr suppressing investigations? He doesn’t say so, but there is a part about Barr at the very end that I transcribed below.
UPDATE: At the end of the interview (about 6:48 PT):
PARNAS: I can’t wait til more of the book comes out about what Bolton spoke to Barr about, because Barr knew exactly what Giuliani and we were doing there, so thank you for having me on your show.
MELBER: And you think there’s more to come that will prove that about Bill Barr?
PARNAS: Absolutely, I think there’s a treasure trove. Just think about this: there is no such thing as a coincidence. Me and Bolton don’t speak, there was no interaction, and here you go, all of a sudden, I made the claim that Barr knew because I know he knew and then Bolton makes the claim that he spoke to him, and Barr calls both of us liars with a statement.
I realize it’s silly to call for him to recuse from all Ukraine matters, so I’ll just sigh and pour another glass of wine…
