I went to the doctor last week because I thought my cancer was back. My left thumb was hurting badly and I couldn’t find the source of the pain so I just figured it was cancer. (FYI, I have also thought I had cancer of the teeth before when I had a toothache.)
My doctor pulled on my thumb a bit and then poked it hard in a spot by my wrist. I screamed. She said “Yep, that’s arthritis”. I was so relieved that it was not cancer that I didn’t ask what do about arthritis. Duh. Currently I do nothing. The rare times I have any type of pain I just take a Vicodin. Doesn’t help with the source of the pain too much but it does help with not caring. Whoosh!
The odd thing about my not doing anything about my own arthritis is that I do a lot to treat my 13 year old dog Said’s arthritis. Look at my boy with his knobby knees and swollen joints.
For Said’s arthritis he takes:
~CBD Oil
~ Turmeric
~ Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM
~ Sam E
~Aspirin
~Fish Oil
I just added a weekly injection of some drug that is for dogs and horses joints into the mix as well. And I don’t do anything for my own arthritis?!?! I think I’ll start with the Turmeric, Glucosamine mix, and Sam E. I’ll pass on the aspirin and fish oil makes me burb so none of that for me thanks.
I’m careful to make sure that Said gets a good balance of exercise and rest. I better start back with yoga myself, they have it for free at my local public library. So, do you have arthritis? How do you treat yours?
