Everybody is really upset they are not getting the results right away. There will be about a sixteen hour lag. Let’s see what good is coming from this.
1. A direct illustration of the importance of having a paper trail. This is something we desperately need for all elections, right now. Every candidate must come out and yell, “Thank God we had a paper trail.”
2. It takes Trump off the front page. Nothing happens a five minute minute story then talking about what Trump is going to say at the State of the Union. There is almost no talk about Trump, for the first time in three years.
3. It creates anticipation. Ask any writer or director is better, getting immediate results or having everybody wondering for almost an entire day “who won Iowa.” This type of mystery is just what the doctor ordered for Bernie, Liz and Pete. And it will destroy Biden (who decided to send that idiotic letter? The, “I’m an asshole loser and I’m trying to hide it meme is going to last until the results actually come out.”
4. It will be defining. If Pete won his claim of victory will be seen as a “I paid for the microphone” moment. If he did not he will come off as the jerk who claimed he got an A walking out of the test — and then got a C.
All things considered, a big positive.
