Not my observation, but interesting enough to take notice of.
A short twitter thread about 'Shadow', the group running the caucus data collating/reporting app that’s at the heart of the caucus’ difficulties.
It brings up some salient points about the people behind the software being political consultants… ones we’ve seen before. And before. And Before.
It does feel like we’ve got the same people running the same campaigns and trying the same things but with the mantra “And this time… BIG DATA IN REAL TIME!” without ever actually… you know, testing at scale. Or at density. Or with adequate user support.
Speaking as an engineer… this would be massively improved by moving away from the caucus. Perhaps going with a ranked choice primary. Simplify.
