The House voted on Friday to approve a major aid package for Puerto Rico. The bully in the White House has already threatened to veto the bill if it gets through the Senate.
Representative Nydia Velázquez of New York gave an impassioned speech on the floor in support of the bill, HR 5687, which was introduced by fellow New York Rep. Nita Lowey.
160 Republicans and one Independent voted no. Seventeen Republicans voted with Democrats.
Velázquez is now calling out Republicans with a significant number of Puerto Ricans in their districts. We should join her and help get the word out.
Her pointed tweets did not go unnoticed.
