This again is not some kind of research paper. This is a request. Over and over again I have seen Democrats bring out the long political knives against anyone who is not there preferred candidate. Meanwhile Republicans are dancing in line like the freakin’ Rockettes.
The following I do not believe to be true.
Among the things I have heard-Pete is a corporatist shill.
I have heard Liz betrayed Bernie and the progressive movement.
According to James Carville, Sanders is a Communist.
I have heard Bloomberg is a racist.
I have been told Amy failed the black community as DA.
I have been told Biden is losing his mind.
This is what Democratic voters have told me, largely due to forums and message boards.
Except-I feel that they are not voters. My feeling is we are falling victim to Russian interference again. Or I should say, falling for it. Now I will tell you I am aggravated with the media and their incessant trope that we lack enthusiasm when N.H. just set a record. It is hard to know who to trust.
But let us above all agree that these are good people. We don’t have to have lockstep unity but we can’t keep tearing each other apart. Pete served this country. Amy overcame an alcoholic parent childhood, Liz was a waitress who worked her way through school. Mike led a terrified city after 9-11, Joe took his oath after losing a wife and child in a car accident. And Bernie has never wavered in his beliefs.
I hereby vow not to engage in tearing other candidates down. I promise loyalty to our nominee, my tireless work, and commitment to winning. Where we disagree it needs to be with respect and the focus must always be on building each other up.
We can’t win divided. But we won’t deserve to either, and I for one would really like to have not just the win, but the gale force gust of moral authority behind our win.
Please. Stop. Fighting.
P.S. Don’t give up on Liz’s campaign. Even though I back Bernie, true progressive voices need to stay in this thing.
