My sweet little cat has died.
Love you forever little lady!
Been by my side for over 20 years, what will I do without you?
:(
I got my little doll when she was a tiny baby, to comfort the old male cat whose lady had died suddenly. We were all just crushed, but he especially was devastated because they’d been together all their lives.
We brought her home and she immediately took over, pouncing up and down on the old man and bringing him back to life. He complained bitterly of course as she bounced around and swatted him and bit his tail and his ears. But he adored her and lived another year and half, until he went peacefully into the next world on my lap, listening to his favorite music.
In the meantime we’d brought home two of Lady’s brothers, litter mates, and the three of them became our family. We lost one brother age 15 to heart disease, the other survives and is heartbroken now without his big sister who raised him. My husband died too a couple of years ago; so now it’s just me and little Grandpa.
I’ll be forever grateful for the love and beauty these critters have brought into my life. My husband used to play music for them on his flute. They’d come running when they heard him, jumping up and surrounding him, nuzzling him, enchanted by the music.
I’m so happy and relieved that she went peacefully on her pillow, surrounded by love, at almost 21 years of age. Come to think of it, my husband went the same way, loved, warm, comforted. Maybe their spirits are together now. Both times I felt terrible sorrow of course, followed by a wonderful sense of peace and joy. The house breathed again, free of pain. Maybe their spirits got too big for their bodies.
I just hope that old Grandpa and I can find a little companion or two, and that he sticks around awhile.
Be grateful, people, for the love in our lives. Nothing else matters nearly as much as the animals and people who share our world with us.
Love you Princess. Love you forever.
