Jeremy Christian, the Nazi who stabbed two people to death on the Max here in Portland, has been found guilty on all charges.
I hope he spends the rest of his life in jail. At least he has the rest of his life, unlike his victims.
Cases like this one make it very hard to be against the death penalty. But quite honestly, Pete Buttigieg said it best: "I've seen people who deserved to die, but I've never seen anyone who deserved to kill." I have to remember that.
Remember the victims here - people who were standing up against a racist lunatic who was terrorizing Muslim women on a train, and for their efforts they were stabbed to death. Say their names:
Micah Fletcher. He survived, barely, and testified at trial. A truly brave human being.
And don't let this Nazi's murderous actions deter you from taking action when you see people being targeted. Stand up, say something, be loud, and don't be a bystander.
Punch a Nazi if you have to. Or if you just kind of want to. Nazis deserve to be punched, is what I'm saying.
