From the inception of his campaign, the media, keepers of the conventional wisdom, and the Democratic establishment dismissed Bernie Sanders as a fringe phenomenon.
Sure he had dedicated followers, but no one wants a revolution. Sanders has a ceiling of 12%; no, maybe it's 25%. He won, but 75% of the voters voted against Sanders. To make this point, anyone who voted for another candidate would be lumped together as an anti-Sanders vote. A nonsensical claim as the majority of those voters had a very positive view of Sanders, according to polls. But the Bernie bros, but he had more support in 2016, but young people don't vote, but no one wants big change. Turn on the TV, and you would think Sanders's campaign didn't stand a chance. His talk about activating millions for revolutionary change, a delusion. Every victory a sure sign of his imminent demise.
Sanders represents a complete change from everything accepted as political gospel for decades. It is impossible for a Sanders to win, just as it was impossible for a Trump to win. But the experts are experts in a political landscape that is dead and gone. Their 'expertise' is obsolete. The world has changed, and they don't understand this new world. All over the world, the center is collapsing as people lose faith in the institutions that sustained them since WW2. No one knows for sure what the fall out will be of the inflection point we are fast approaching. But looking backward won't help you to understand where we are going.
The billionaire's money machine, which has caused the existential crisis society is in, is now at risk. The political formula that kept their scam going is no longer working. Voters aren't buying it—especially young voters who have only experienced the downsides of our 'new economy'. The billionaires have too much money at stake to allow Sanders to piss on their money parade. It's going to get a lot uglier fast. Some establishment Democrats are beginning to say better Trump then Sanders out loud. The bad news for the billionaires is that their shills (media, politicians) are about as popular as cancer. The more they trash Bernie, the more people will like him.
The Sanders movement is just winding up, and Nevada will be it's launchpad.
