For years, I have enjoyed WGN News in the morning, Channel 9, broadcasting in the greater Chicagoland Area. Two stories this morning caused some serious gastro-intestinal distress.
The first, a video clip of the Clearwater Beach in Florida. It was PACKED with HS and College kids swimming and partying. In close proximity with each other.
I did some pretty stupid things in college, some actually dangerous (to me, not others) and I am both surprised and elated that I survived. But seeing that video this morning made me think that the general IQ of our kids seems to have taken a lemming-like leap off the cliff. Compared to my heroine Greta, these idiots found their village, and it is
PARTY TIIIIIIIIME!
All that was missing was cases of Corona bottles.
Questions:
1. WaDaFa are they thinking?
2. Do they have parents? If so, are those parents brain dead?
3. Do they plan to visit family and fiends after their fun in the sun? Or will they self- isolate themselves for a couple of weeks? (Health hint: let’s take away their phones and iPads, and leave them alone with these weird old things called books.)
4. If/When they are infected, who will they blame?
If you think I was kidding, I only wish. I tried to link to the WGN clip, but found this instead. This is the scene this morning, AFTER the CDC said stay away from crowds:

Then, at 8:00am, the time when many adults are watching, especially if their places of work are closed or limiting access, one of their reporters said something that stuck in my craw.
Courtney Housman, smiling, happy, and full of pep, just called COVID 19 (and I quote her directly) “this scare.” The not so subtle implication is that this is a hollow threat, a scare, not a serious situation, and clearly not a danger to the general public. A Bloody SCARE! Here is her information:

And here is WGN’s contact info, if you want to educate them on the use of language — desk@wgntv.com
Stay safe, folks, follow the (finally) decent advice from the CDC. Ignore the president and his cohorts. And recognize that some MAGAts are simply too dense and incapable of taking in facts and data to counter their Inhannity, Rush, and Ingraham-based ejumikashun and brain-washing.
Avoid them like the . . . Plague.
Here is a hint. If you think a medical problem might crop up, draft a Limited Power of Attorney which allows another adult to go to the drug store for you, especially if you feel ill. They (in most cases) will fill your prescription with your POA and ID, keeping you and the pharmacist safe. If you want a copy I am sending friends and clients, please contact me by message, and I will send you the blank form. It will be limited by date and by a single purpose, but it may also get you meds that you or yours need. It won’t work for opioids, according to my local Walgreens, but other meds should be fine.
