Yesterday I wrote about how 538 of 858 quarantined passengers from the virus-ridden Grand Princess Cruise ship had refused covid-19 testing, many at the urging of federal officials. Since the passengers had been in quarantine for 14 days without symptoms, the feds reasoned, they were free and clear of the virus. Of course during the quarantine, 21 other passengers had come down with the virus, re-exposing the entire group and, in a rational world, resetting the 14-day quarantine clock. Despite this second exposure, over 800 people are scheduled for release on Monday and Tuesday.
On Saturday, the first testing results from the 300 other quarantined passengers who did agree to be tested came in. Seven of them tested positive for the virus, despite being completely asymptomatic. This was a scenario I posited yesterday, and it is in line with research showing that 1-3% of all carriers are asymptomatic. And that’s just the first batch of results.
A massive time bomb of approximately 800 people who were consistently exposed to sick people in close quarters for two weeks is about to be released throughout the United States.
How is this madness allowed?
