Good Wednesday Good Newsies, Gnusies, newbies and all who venture to this amazing group. I, like many here, have gone from anxious to paranoid to angry to sad and back again more times then I can count. The Republican party is writing it’s own obituary, it just ranks my shackles that is it at the expense of the American people. Although I was always aghast at how low the rethugs would sink to, I really never in my wildest nightmares, nuclear codes anyone, thought they would abandon us to this level. I am a New Yorker and our state is really hurting. Governor Cuomo was never my favorite choice, but dang it he is stepping up! And I know many other great ones are too! But, I just love the New Yorker digs at tRump and his minions.
This is a hard time, I have to say harder that anything I have faced in my 58 years. Yet a strange thing happened on Saturday night when, as I always do, visited Another Saturday Night from The Village and hpg posted this song:
Through the fog of the isolation I remembered a purpose...to fight, not just me, not just you, but all of us. We are in this together, we will get through this, and the blue tsunami will bring a better world!
Onward!
This is about how I feel about 2020 so far.
Okay, no we do not want to go back to 2016 but jumping ahead to 2021 when our side is back in control would be A Okay with me.
Some good news:
ICE Must Release 10 Chronically Ill Immigrants After A Judge Said They’re Not Safe From The Coronavirus While In Custody
A federal judge ordered the immediate release of 10 immigrants in government custody on Tuesday, saying it would be “unconscionable and possibly barbaric” to keep the chronically ill detainees in jails where they could be exposed to the coronavirus.
“Should we fail to afford relief to Petitioners we will be a party to an unconscionable and possibly barbaric result,” Jones wrote in his order. “Our Constitution and laws apply equally to the most vulnerable among us, particularly when matters of public health are at issue. This is true even for those who have lost a measure of their freedom. If we are to remain the civilized society we hold ourselves out to be, it would be heartless and inhumane not to recognize Petitioners’ plight.”
The ruling comes just days after a federal judge in New York City also ordered the release of a group of ICE detainees.

People Are Bailing Out Inmates From New York City's Biggest Jail, Where The Coronavirus Outbreak Is Skyrocketing
While coronavirus infections in New York City’s largest jail have skyrocketed to nearly 10 times the rate of the city’s residents overall — according to one legal organization’s analysis — a grassroots crowdfunding campaign has been bailing out the Rikers Island inmates.
The Emergency Release Fund, a group of organizers and activists in New York, has raised $18,000 since March 23 and freed five inmates in the last three days, Alex Tereshonkova, a member of the group, told BuzzFeed News on Monday. The average donation is $20.
“They haven't been convicted of crimes,” said Tereshonkova, who pointed out that the inmates eligible for cash bail still have yet to receive a court trial. This month, New York suspended new trials indefinitely. “These people being detained are innocent until proven guilty. They have the same right to live that we do.”
See, really good things are still happening, nasty squirm on face…
Bogus coronavirus claims lead Google Play to finally give Infowars the boot
On Friday, Google removed the Infowars Android app from its Play Store, extinguishing one of the last mainstream strongholds of infamous conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. The takedown came on the heels of a video, posted in the Infowars app last week and viewed by Wired, in which Jones disputed the need for social distancing, shelter in place, and quarantine efforts meant to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Google confirmed to Wired that it removed the app on Friday. The app had more than 100,000 downloads according to Google Play's published metrics, and was rated "E10+," meaning safe for all users 10 and older. The Infowars app sold products like supplements and protein powder, broadcast The Alex Jones Show live, and posted videos and articles from Jones and others.
"Now more than ever, combating misinformation on the Play Store is a top priority for the team," a Google spokesperson told Wired. "When we find apps that violate Play policy by distributing misleading or harmful information, we remove them from the store."
More people who really care:
A Minnesota trooper pulled over a doctor for speeding. Then he gave her his N95 medical masks
Dr. Sarosh Ashraf Janjua, a cardiologist at a coronavirus quarantine unit in Duluth, was pulled over by Trooper Brian Schwartz for speeding on March 21.
But instead of a ticket, Schwartz handed Janjua five N95 masks he was supposed to use as protection -- along with a firm warning for speeding.
"I burst into tears. And though it may just have been the cold wind, I think he teared up a little as well, before wishing me well and walking away," Janjua said on Facebook.
A little music break, a little humor.
I do not know about you all but even though I am working from home the anxiety ridden boredom can be deafening. So, I think I have caught up on or watched a whole lot of stuff I may never have gotten to. Let’s talk about Tiger King on Netflix. First every character in this docuseries is bat shart nuts but none so much as Joe Exotic, and yes, he ran for president.
Really if you have Netflix or can “borrow” it, you should watch it. Fascinating. (Yes I hate that they keep wild life, so no that does not have to be pointed out, that part makes me cringe)
Poor dumpy:
Not Even Bedbugs Booking Trump's Roach Motels During Coronavirus :(
Pour one out for the Trump boys, whose hotels are even tackier and sadder with no one in them. The Washington Post reports that "seven of the Trump Organization's 10 top-grossing properties were closed" as of today, and the remaining three in Chicago, New York, and Washington, DC, were barely hanging on, with their bars and restaurants shuttered. Sadly, that band of misfits trying to dig up Ukraine dirt on Joe Biden has to meet on Zoom now that BLT Prime is closed. Because you know they're still fucking that chicken, somewhere.
The Post says that Trump's Emoluments Inn in DC, leased from your federal government, is at five percent occupancy, and "managers of the hotel have been peppering social media with promises of a comeback and thank you messages to the few guests staying there."
So Green Day is doing No Fun Mondays until we can get back in the world. Maybe jessie can post them after this.
Funny?
Longtime Trump supporter Mike Francesa nukes president’s pandemic response: ‘People are dying!’
Well good gnusies I have to admit I am tired, tired of this crap of an administration, tired of not seeing anyone, I am even tired of my own house. But I am thankful for all of you here and I appreciate the support you have offered all of us here. I know there is good news to be found and I know you will share it in the comments. It is the best part of this community! I wish you all safety, health and even in these times togetherness.

9 Ways to Help Others During the Coronavirus Pandemic
The Pandemic Will Be Livestreamed
And as always from Indivisible:
Your weekly to-dos
- Call your senator and tell them to prioritize a Coronavirus People’s Bailout. We need a package that prioritizes protecting our democratic systems, providing accessible health care for all, and direct economic support to everyone. Call your senators now to demand they support the People’s Bailout.
- Call your representative and tell them the same. Millions of people could be left behind while corporations rake in trillions of tax-payer dollars. The House needs to make this right. Call your representatives now and demand that they support the above provisions be included in the next coronavirus package.
- Email your representative and two senators and demand they prioritize a People’s Bailout. Use our tool to send a letter to your three members of Congress, which outlines what a People’s Bailout would include.
- Record a video demanding your members of Congress prioritize a People’s Bailout and tell us how the COVID-19 crisis has impacted your life. We’ll uplift you and show reporters and members of Congress that even though we’re not rallying in the streets, Indivisibles are still working hard to hold their members of Congress accountable and build a sense of shared community. Use this opportunity to use your voice to control the narrative.
Today is our day out to get some supplies and do some errands that cannot wait. We have a good plan and this should allow us to stay put again for several days.
I love you all!
Take us out Warren
Peace!
