Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a good Easter (or Passover, or whatever your Holiday of choice is today if any). My dad made Pork Tenderloin for dinner, so I had a big meal. But an overstuffed tummy wont stop me from delivering the good news to you all. So lets jump right into it.
“What the hell is happening to Fox News?” Trump tweeted. He slammed “Mike Wallace wannabe” Chris Wallace and said he’s convinced the Fox News host is “even worse than Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd” of MSNBC. He complained that it’s a “whole new ballgame” now at Fox.
Trump didn’t detail what specifically set him off. But Wallace featured Johns Hopkins health expert Tom Inglesby, who said on Fox News Sunday that had the Trump administration taken earlier action against COVID-19, “we’d be in a much better position” now.
And of course Trump spends Easter lobbing rotten eggs at his own personal Easter Bunny Fox news. Every time I see this I have to laugh; Fox News and similar outlets are the backbone of the GOP’s power, they are the main reason they are even still around, and Trump insists on picking fights with them because he’s such a petulant child he can’t even take the hint of being disagreed with or thought less of. What a loser.
This Thursday, President Trump fired off a tweet commemorating National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day, writing, "we honor the more than 500,000 American warriors captured while protecting our way of life. We pay tribute to these Patriots for their unwavering and unrelenting spirit!"
The post was noticed by Meghan McCain, who is a talk show host and daughter of the late Arizona Senator John McCain, who Trump disparaged in past comments regarding his being taken prisoner during the Vietnam war.
I’m sure Trump is already gearing up to Sue McCain for her comments, since we know how much he hates it when people actually remember the stupid stupid things he says and hold him to task over them (In all seriousness, good on you Ms. McCain).
President Donald Trump appeared bored on Saturday as coronavirus kept him off the golf course for a second weekend in a row.
Three hours before Trump was scheduled to appear on "Justice" with former Judge Jeanine Pirro, the leader of the free world lashed out at the network.
I probably should have posted this after the Chris Wallace story, but as you all know I do the GNR unedited and in one take.
So yeah, apparently Trump is now pushing an even more conservative news network which is challenging Fox News, which has I guess now become too left of the dial for Trump (let that sink in). I’m sure this is probably bad in the long run, but allow me a brief moment of schadenfreude at the expense of our “fair and balanced" friends at Fox News, now set upon by a monster they helped create.
President Trump’s approval rating dropped to a six-month low of 43 percent in the daily tracking poll conducted by the Republican-friendly Rasmussen Reports.
The survey of 500 likely voters, released Friday, found that 56 percent of voters disapprove of Trump’s job performance.
The results reflect those of the RealClear Politics polling average, where Trump hit his all-time approval high of 47.3 percent on March 31 as the coronavirus crisis took hold — but has dipped to 44.9 percent in the days since.
Yeah, despite the early “rally around the flag” bump he got early on, the longer this drags on and the more Trumps incompetence is put on display, the worse it will be for him. I certainly hope the Coronavirus crisis ends soon, but at the same time I hope it wakes people up to how terrible Trump is.
On Saturday’s coronavirus quarantine episode of “SNL” — the first pre-taped new episode in the show’s 45-year history — Alec Baldwin showed up during “Weekend Update” to once again portray Donald Trump as he detailed some other ideas for racist names to call COVID-19 besides “Chinese virus.”
And of course we need to end on a little levity. And thanks to Alec Baldwin and the rest of the SNL cast for pretaping their episode for the first time ever to keep the people safe while still providing laughs in these trying times.
Well, that’s it for this week. Stay safe, stay health, resist, vote, Impeach (Already done but we can do it again), and throw Trump out of office.
