One thing I have to say about this virus is that it’s cutting down on traffic. I walk to work along a major street during rush hour. It’s usually full of cars.
I take my lunch walk by our county’s admin center where the court, the jail and various county offices are. They are usually busy and there’s cars and people all over. Not anymore. On a nice spring day it’s like a park.
The grounds crew has been partially furloughed so they’re letting the lawns grow. The weeds are flowering and native plants have gained a foothold in spots.
Springtime in NoCal, when even the weeds look nice.
The footprint of humanity is a little lighter this year.
Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share a virtual kitchen table with other readers of Daily Kos who aren’t throwing pies at one another. Drop by to talk about music, your weather, your garden, or what you cooked for supper…. Newcomers may notice that many who post in this series already know one another to some degree, but we welcome guests at our kitchen table and hope to make some new friends as well.
Please do not attack Democratic candidates or drag primary fights into our community.
