Another fun and fascinating evening on Twitter.
I was reading through how Gov. Tom Wolf had announced that there would be consequences for counties that were non-compliant with the State-mandated Stay at home order.
As you can see, if the non-compliant counties open early (thereby potentially creating COVID-19 hotspots), they stand to lose quite a bit. Businesses that do the same risk citations, which could cause the loss of their liquor license (if they possess one.)
But by far the most “out there” post that I saw was the one that held the graphic at the top of the diary.
There’s alot of “unique” people out there (as there are here in Nevada), but this has got to take the cake. This image reminds me of the Sovereign Citizen movement (you know — the one’s that drive around with no plates on their cars, or licenses in their pockets, because they’ve “cancelled their contract with the United States and all of it’s “tyrannical laws?”)
Personally, I cannot think of a single medical condition in the ICD-10 that covers increased respiratory intake of one’s own exhaled CO2 (someone that knows the ICD better feel free to comment below). It seems to me a way to get around the order to wear face masks, and be in a position to potentially sue someone if they’re asked to remove it before entering a public establishment.
I know this rant may seem a little wayward, and for that I apologize in advance. It’s my first diary, and it was something that I saw that just irked the living snot out of me. It’s hard to believe that there are folks out there that are really short on common sense, that they have to come up with hare-brained reasons not to comply with something that is designed to protect everyone.
A side note — should you choose to click on the thread, bring your eyeball bleach. You’re gonna need it.
