Well, well, well. CNN breaking that Trump’s ridiculous attempt at authoritarian theater was done to counter the optics of him cowering in a bunker with the lights out at the White House:
Coward. Exactly right. He stood in front of a church whose Bishop has already condemned him for his appearance without permission. He held an object in his hands. Rectangular, black. He wasn’t sure what it was cause he kept feeling around it like a 3 month old about to shove something, anything in its mouth. Who knows, maybe his diaper needed changing too.
Don’t get me wrong. He should be called out for his attempts at fascism and the nation warned that this is not now, nor should ever be considered, acceptable behavior by a President of the United States.
But I say to those of us out there once again in the grips of fear: He is a coward. A mentally deteriorating sociopathic coward incapable of accepting the inevitability of his circumstance and in his inability to accept it, can only lash out in impotent spurts. Failure and impotence has been the hallmark of his presidency. Over and over again, he has proven incapable of not only executing the duties of his office, but of even the most basic acts of competent authoritarianism.
Yes, President Karen will still cause harm. Yes, he will continue to put this nation to the test. But speaking as an immigrant I cannot stress enough that for all the faults of this nation’s Founders, the Constitutional democracy of this country has withstood worse and persevered, and persevered because of We the People.
So to quote the words of my fellow country man Robert Nesta Marley:
Don't let them fool ya
Or even try to school ya!
Oh, no!
We’ve got a mind of our own
So go to hell if what you're thinking isn't right!
Love will never leave us alone
After the darkness there must come out the light
And VOTE
[Okay, he didn’t say that last part, but he would if he were still with us]
