Circumstances came together the last couple weeks, just in time for me to make a greeting for the impotus on It’s birthday. I have been on the sidelines, impressed by freeway blogger’s work and have wanted to do some like it. My neighbors got a new fridge, and they were happy to let me take the box. Then last week I saw “Bunker Boy Putin’s Toy” here on good old DKos, and it rang my bell as a great phrase for a sign. (Thrupny Bits is the phrase’ originator, or an early adopter at minimum.)
Since tomorrow is the anniversary of It’s appearance on Earth, it seemed logical to mark the ominous occasion. I don’t have skills like freeway blogger, so my signs are kind of crude. But boy, they are BIG - three feet by almost twelve feet! We have had a ton of rain the past few days, but today is supposed to be dry and hopefully my signs will stay an hold up.
These are going on an I-5 pedestrian overpass in Vancouver, Washington, and will be hung (or going up) as you read this diary. I’m a greenhorn, but this broke the ice so I plan to scrounge up more cardboard and make more signs. (It’s a great way to use up old paint too!) Not only that, but my wife and son have expressed interest in making signs, and they actually have artistic talent! It’s going to be fun getting better at making signs and finding places to hang them. Thanks for the inspiration freeway blogger! (It should not have taken me so long to get started...)

I hung the sign this morning, and it went pretty smooth. I followed tips from freeway blogger in using bungee cords to secure it. I hung it initially with hooks I made from bike spokes Hopefully it will stay up for awhile.
Now that my first one is done, I’ll be reusing this location, and scanning the areas I travel for other places. It’s easy and fun!
