You know what’s scary? Even scarier than Trump having nuclear codes and the Twitter app?
Knowing that one day in the not-too-distant future, Trump is going to be yesterday’s boogie man. His presidency will go into the history books. His tweets will be found in text books, and students will learn about his presidency and all that happened with the same reductive narrative applied by the “winners” who get to tell history.
We only talk about those who took a stand against bad leaders when they win.
OK, you're on. We're the winners you have been waiting for. There are 1,200 books about Trump so far, and we haven't gotten any of the really juicy documents yet. Nobody knows how many potential whistleblowers are just waiting until reprisals are no longer a thing.
Oh, I guess I haven't mentioned yet: Texas will no longer control what gets into published history textbooks for half of the country. (California and New York control the rest.) We don't know whether Biden and Harris will win Texas this time around, but we know that Texas has become a tossup, and is still evolving strongly. Better still, Open Educational Resources under Creative Commons licensing are now a thing. Teachers and students will be able to edit digital textbooks, or even write their own.
OK, that will do to get started on a very different future. So let's hear your ideas.
And now for your regularly scheduled

This hummingbird survives cold nights by nearly freezing itself solid
A black metaltail hummingbird (Metallura phoebe) perches on a branch in the Peruvian Andes. To survive cold nights, this bird cools down to 3° Celsius, putting itself in a state of suspended animation. It’s the coldest body temperature ever recorded for a bird or non-hibernating mammal.
Hmm...
Coffee
For me, not that birdie. Sweet Maria's Guatemala Antigua Pulcal Yellow Bourbon, home roasted, fresh ground, with real cream. For a little bit of work, half the cost of burnt supermarket beans. Before coffee came in a can, almost everybody roasted their own green coffee beans.
