In this diary I am posting a little bit of the music of “The Beatles!” (the band) and also a little bit of the music of Ringo Starr, George Harrison, John Lennon, and Paul McCartney.
The various Beatles.
First, here is one of the earliest, and simplest, of the Beatles hit songs:
Next is a big favorite of mine, still from the early days:
Such a great guitar baseline riff or solo, whatever you call it!
Ha!
Feel free to post more of the earlier Beatles songs in the comments.
Here is one of my favorites from the later Beatles era:
The guitar music in that is so great.
And the message, if I understand it correctly, is powerful.
My wife, who died two years ago, was a Black woman.
So, I am sensitive to commentary about Black folks in the USA, which is, apparently, what that song is about.
Here is another one from the later Beatles era:
That song reminds me of this song:
Commentary on ordinary life.
Ha!
Now I am moving on the various Beatles, in their separate careers.
Ringo Starr:
I do not recall that Ringo got any other songs on the charts.
If you know of any, feel free to post them in the comments.
George Harrison:
Great fun!
If I understand correctly, George Harrison died of cancer, from smoking cigarettes.
John Lennon:
When that song came out, I was under a lot of stress, caring for my first wife, Pam, who was born a total quadriplegic. And working full time at a low-level job. Living paycheck to paycheck.
That song made me feel good.
Feel free to post more John Lennon songs in the comments.
Paul McCartney and Wings:
He’s so silly.
I like his silliness.
Ha!
Speaking of silliness:
Someone’s knocking at the door.
Somebody’s ringing the bell.
Someone’s knocking at the door.
Somebody’s ringing the bell.
Do me a favor,
open the door,
and let them in.
So silly!
Ha!
For all we know,
our love will grow.
That’s what the man said.
That reminds me of this song:
So smooth and nice.
Well, I will quit posting songs now.
Feel free to post any songs you like, The Beatles, the various Beatles, or any other music.
Hugs!
