In the midst of a breaking news spot on Faux, they just gave a perfect reason for why they put the Iraqi military out of work...
Initial reports say that two
missiles were fired at a pair of chinook helicopters near Fallujah, approaching Baghdad airport.
Then the reporter announces that the US have been offering 500 dollars for each missile turned in to them.
When the anchor in the newsroom asks the on-the-spot guy if they've had any success with this, the reply goes something like: "well, people in Iraq are hard up at the moment, so yes, there's been some success with people needing money!"
So obviously, disbanding the Iraqi military was a stealthy way of getting some of the arms back. Now it makes perfect sense!
Of course, they then go on with the report, expressing astonishment that Iraq is almost as well armed as some American cities! And there I was thinking it was better armed. But this was Fox News...
