I am one of many congressional candidates that understand and appreciate the power of the people demonstrated through the Daily Kos community.
I would like to thank all of you for all of the information, insight, and at times, much needed laughter.
There is going to be a value in being in the "kos Caucus" as members of the world community, for all of the candidates that take the time to read and listen at this, and other very worthy sites.
I am proud to declare the 2006 Congressional Candidate
"kos Caucus" now in session, and in constant session for the next 362 Days. We need to grow the caucus (See Below)
There are too many seats in Congress that go unchallenged.
Howgroovy Has a diary on this tonight. Go there please, and see if you know someone to step up and run in one of these areas.
Think of law enforcement officers, teachers, ministers, former mayors or elected officials, or do it yourself. Filling the tickets force every Republican Incumbent to spend money in their district and that keeps it from being funneled into other districts. Besides, how can we get rid of all of them, if we don't at least contest all of them?
WI Deadhead has a great top ten list;
Top Ten Reasons to run for congress:
10) Gives your mom something to brag about
9) Looks good on a resume
8) What if the wingnut drops dead the week before? Or gets caught with his pants full of cocaine?
7) Make people listen to all of your crazy ideas for a change
6) Who agrees with your political views more than you do?
5) Even 1 vote against is better than zero
4) You will meet some interesting people, make
some friends, and see more of the surrounding countryside than you have before
3) Respect for the office. You mean NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON out of 600,000 cares enough to try?
2) Rebuttal to, "Why don't you quit complaining and do something about it?"
1) Because it's your damn country, too
Thanks for reading this, and may the kos Caucus of Congressional Candidates continue to grow.
Keep the pressure on!
