Some talking points for a second-day follow-up to the Rove fiasco.
Bring up the veterans, the families of soldiers, the NYC survivors, the 9/11 families to respond directly to Rove's comments that they don't care about 9/11 and want our soldiers to die.
Everyone else needs to step off the apology or outrage tack. To keep asking for an apology we're never going to get makes us look weak & ineffective. Let Rove and the Republicans try to look "tough" by stonewalling 9/11 families; we can move on.
Here are some rough talking points to consider - fine-tuning or other suggestions welcome. Please, no outraged posts that I'm missing the point and that we should just ignore Rove; obviously, I disagree.

"Desperate mudslinging from a failed, rudderless White House." (Cite latest poll numbers)
Wrong Priorities
"It's too bad the Republican Party is more interested in soundbite wars than in winning the real war in Iraq."
"It's ironic to be accused of not supporting our troops by the party that makes giving Paris Hilton a tax break a higher priority than buying body armor for our soldiers."
Disappointment
"I look forward to the day when we have a Republican Party that attacks the problems of working Americans - problems like the economy, health care, crime, and education - with the same energy it now devotes to attacking fellow Americans."
