There are a lot of diaries and comments now and in the next few days that will be depressing after the letdown of the cloture vote.
But there is always a light in the darkness. Out of this, I think we can reemerge stronger and more focused, and there are already efforts underway to channel some of the anger and outrage; most of these will be very good things.
I just read a comment in this diary in which someone offered a place to stay in Vancouver for any woman who, after Alito has his way, will not be able to terminate her pregnancy in the US. Will it come to individual, one-to-one solutions like that? Maybe, but we may have to prepare for some unhappy and uncomfortable circumstances for a little while, while we build up to remedy things.
I was wondering if it would be worthwhile and useful to have a website to discuss this kind of thing, in the fashion of AfterDowningStreet.org. What do you think. Do we need to map out an alternative resource network for survival for the Roberts court, or am I just over-dramatising the news this sad day?
