This isn't much of a diary but I wanted to call everyone's attention to Cafferty's blistering denunciation of Cheney et al. Can be read here: Cafferty on CNN.com More after the fold.
Cafferty lets Cheney and Bushco. have it with both barrels. A sample:
Here we are 100 days into the new administration of Barack Obama, and Darth Vader is still wandering around grumbling about why the new administration is all wrong.
Nobody is interested anymore, Mr. Vice President. You and your gaggle of miscreants had your shot, and we are in the toilet because of it. Don't you get it?
I have always liked Jack Cafferty, but never more than now.
His column started me to ruminating on the current state of journalism. There was Frank Rich's excellent column in the NY Times yesterday and other signs that the MSM is starting to shake off its torpor. Maybe it's wishful thinking but there are even signs that the media would support some amount of progressive reform. The voice of progressive values has been quite absent from the marketplace of ideas for so many years. That is why we have regressed into the sorry state we have at present.
Not since the days of FDR has there been such a push from the people themselves for an end to rule by the elites. There will undoubtedly be a push back--but the reactionary forces are going to have to do more than throw their ridiculous tea parties to quiet the simmering anger among the people. They now have a target for their wrath, as they realize they have been lied to over and over, by those who were not worthy of the trust that was placed in them.
Wow! Top of the Rec List! Thanks one and all for participating. Jack Cafferty deserves the credit for hitting one out of the park.
