I am not sure how much the recent spate of senseless gun crimes is related to the incitement by the likes of Beck, O'Rielly, Hannity, Coulter and Limbaugh etcetera, it depends on how much influence you are willing to accredit them with, and judging by Limbaugh's and Fox's popularity this seems significant.
However there is another organisation making a come back since we elected an African American who is desperately trying to repair the shattered economy left by his Phoney Texas Ranger Rancher predecessor.
Now the KKK is making a slow steady comeback at it is easy to see why...
Looking over at the stark staring madness going over at The Free Republic:
I am totally not into trusting the news on any shootings recently, where it may be obvious as to intent and actions in some cases I just cannot completely see the real picture here, I feel as if all the internet is going through a supercomputer back and forth subtly changing facts.
What if these events are in some cases people not willing to be arrested such as legal ownership of guns? Were too outspoken against a political agenda? Refused to pay taxes?
Americans that were willing to die instead of being arrested?
Truth will be the first casualty.

I thought they were the ones that used to preach law and order.
It is no wonder this lot are making a slow comeback, all you have to do is spend five minutes on the Free Republic, Little Green Footballs or Redstate and the picture becomes clear.
The Klan is adapting its message and the conditions are ripe for its return as can be seen from many comments on right wing websites such as Free Republic, Redstate, and Little Green Footballs. You don't even need to go to white supremacist websites to see the build up of hate.
Today the Klan is a mere shadow of what it used to be and there are at least 34 differently named Klan groups. "They are a fairly low-rent bunch of people, many of whom use their local organisations as a way of raising money for themselves," says Mark Potok, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama.
But the economic crisis is swelling their ranks and already, a month after the inauguration of the first black president, the tidal wave of interracial harmony that greeted Obama’s election is starting to recede.
"Things are certain to get worse," says Potok. "The ingredients are all there: a dire economy that is certain to get worse; high levels of immigration; the white majority that is soon to turn into a minority and a black man in the White House."
"There is a tremendous backlash to Obama’s election," says Richard Barrett, the leader of the Nationalist Movement, another white supremacist group. "Many people look at the flag of the Republic of New Africa that was hoisted over the White House as an act of war.

I wrote a diary awhile back about the rotten core of populism with respect to immigration and the return of white supremacism.

We must be careful how we debate the immigration issue and not give justification to these extreme right wing groups as it will only swell their ranks. I believe immigration made America a symbol of hope rather than a symbol of our decline as some would have us believe.
What makes this year's report different is that hate groups have found two more things to be angry about -- the nation's first African-American president and an economy that is haemorrhaging jobs. For the past decade, Latino immigration has fuelled the growth of hate group
On the day after Obama's historic election, more than 2,000 people joined his Web site, a remarkable increase from the approximately 80 new members a day he was getting, Black said. His Web site, which was started in 1995, is one of the oldest and largest hate group sites. The site received so many hits that it crashed after election results were announced. The site boasts 110,000 registered members today, Black said.

More than 400 hate-related incidents, from cross-burnings to effigies of President Obama hanging from nooses have been reported, according to law-enforcement authorities and Potok’s organisation, which files lawsuits against hate groups aimed at making them bankrupt.
Most hate crime goes unreported ask any member of the LGBT community and we will confirm this.
Not all states have provide laws which allow attacks against people due to sexual orientation to be charged as hate crimes. It is also speculated that because some victims do not want to reveal their sexual orientations to police, the numbers of attacks that go unreported are equally as high.

A report released last year by the Southern Poverty Law Center stated that the number of hate groups – like the Ku Klux Klan and Skinheads – in the United States is surging – up 48 percent since 2000, with a reported total of 888. California leads the nation with 80, a majority of which are located in Southern California.

I wrote a diary about Corrective Rape you can see what the loonies at Freepers turned it into, its an interesting comparison to make and very disturbing.
So who are the new improved[sic] Klan
We believe in the Ku Klux Klan. We believe that the founders of the Ku Klux Klan were led by divine providence and that once again just like the Klan saved the white race during "Black Reconstruction" it will arise like the great phoenix - The Knights Party - to bring our people once again back from the brink of destruction. Our people led by the hand of God will once more rule our great land. A time of prosperity and racial healing - a great White Christian revival!

Right same as the old racist Klan nothing has changed.
What about their sister site: The Global Minority Report
Throughout the Western world we have been conditioned to think of Christians as being in the majority. However, this is not accurate. There are many Eastern, Pagan, New-Age religions that are dominate in the world. Islam is on the rise and the continued friction in the middle east between Israel and the Arab world is putting Christians in harm's way. We must carry on the advancement of Christianity and protect the traditions, values, and civilization of this ancient and one true faith.
Mix racism and religion and you have one horrible cocktail one justifying the other in some sick minds.
The wingnut news talk show pundits better watch what they are preaching as it is beyond the boundaries of incitement to violence. Beck's 'we surround them' being one of the worst cases.
I also point to the 'lets take America back crowd' as I always wonder who they want to take it back from, you and me apparently, and there is no way I am giving it to them.
As I said in my previous diary please be careful how you phrase some of the 'populist' issues being used at the moment as these can only help fuel these extremist groups.
The 'Thar gonner take ur gunz away' crowd will resort to violence, as has been to recently horribly demonstrated.
The Glenn Beck's and Rush Limbaugh's of this world are playing with fire when they pander to these lunatics to promote their own sorry careers.
A final example of how ridiculous this is getting:
Yes Glenn, we don't know what the truth is except its the opposite of what you say it is, deliberately spreading fear by lying is not covered by the constitution.
When will these morons finally show some contrition?
Update:
Thank you everyone for getting what I believe is an important subject on the rec list.
