Just got text from WAPO:

Holder to Name Prosecutor to Examine CIA Interrogations
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. has decided to appoint a prosecutor to examine nearly a dozen cases in which CIA interrogators and contractors may have violated anti-torture laws and other statutes when they threatened terrorism suspects, according to two sources familiar with the move.
Holder is poised to name John Durham, a career Justice Department prosecutor from Connecticut, to lead the high-stakes inquiry, added the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the process is not yet complete.By Carrie Johnson
That's all that's at the WaPO link. Here's something SLATE had on Durham in 2008, calling him an inside outsider.
This is a great day in America. I don't know much about Durham, but I know having a special prosecutor is what I've wanted since Jan. 20, 2009, and one of the reasons (besides healthcare) that I worked so hard on the campaign.
I am leaving now for a townhall with PA Rep. Chris Carney to make it another great day in America - when the insurance companies no longer have our lives in their hands.
If there are other diaries posted, I won't be here to delete this one, but I have a good excuse...I'm holding a sign asking for a public option.
I'm relieved that a special prosecutor.
