You know how Ken Buck told a young woman that he wasn't going to prosecute in her rape case because to him it actually seemed more like a case of "buyer's remorse"? Well, Buck is standing by his decision to not prosecute -- and he's still saying it seemed like the victim merely had "buyer's remorse":
MR. GREGORY: You told the Greeley Tribune, "A jury could very well conclude that this was a case of buyer's remorse," after you looked at the circumstances of the case and decided not to prosecute. A lot of people thought that was an insensitive remark. ... what about what you told the Greeley Tribune?
MR. BUCK: What I told the Greeley Tribune, I gave them five or six reasons why I thought a jury could decline this case.
MR. GREGORY: Mm-hmm.
MR. BUCK: One of the reasons was the fact that she had regretted this relationship, and she had buyer's remorse as a result of the relationship that she had with this young man.
MR. GREGORY: Mm-hmm.
MR. BUCK: That is, that is something that I think when, when someone decides to make a case public, the public has to understand why.
MR. GREGORY: Senator, is this an issue?
SEN. BENNET: I just--I, I do think it's an issue. Look, I have a lot of sympathy for the victim in this case. He just used the language again, buyer's remorse, and is the father of three little girls. I just think that's the wrong way to talk about this kind of set of circumstances, especially when you're a prosecutor.
Of course, Buck ignores the fact that the suspect admitted to police that the victim had told him "no." And he also sidesteps having told the woman another reason he wasn't prosecuting was his false belief that she'd had an abortion.
But even though Ken Buck told a rape victim he wasn't going to prosecute her attacker because she'd had an abortion of the suspect's child, and even though she actually hadn't had abortion (not that it should have mattered either way), and even though Ken Buck told her it seemed like her rape allegation was just sour grapes based on "buyer's remorse," and even though Ken Buck opposes abortion in all cases including rape and incest, and even though Ken Buck supports banning some forms of birth control, even despite those things Ken Bucks wants you to know he would be really really great for women. Why? Because Sarah Palin endorsed him. Or something like that.
