Three simple words too seldom heard.
There was an email in my inbox this morning:
Markos has finally noticed the climate bill and is now tweeting away on it.
Markos tweeted "Did the GOP write the energy bill Obama is now pushing?"
This contradicts to a degree the rant I posted last week-
Kos doesn't give a shit about climate change
wherein I made a case based upon past remarks that Kos made.
My diary used several metrics to support my claim, even though I was hoping against hope that my thesis was wrong. I wanted to believe he cared, but the facts at the time didn't bear that out.
A handful of people showed up in the comments to tell me I was wrong, but they didn't refute the facts; instead they skipped over the substance and criticized the approach I used. They are still incorrect for calling "bullshit" and shooting the messenger, and I was pleased that people's comment recommends seemed to bear that out.
sorry LP but this diary is bullshit. (2+ / 0-)

:: This comment is bullshit (10+ / 0-)
However, in light of recent emails, it appears that my headline, at least, may indeed be untrue and overly inflammatory, and I wanted to admit that.
Here is my retraction:
Kos does n't give a sh!t about climate change
I was wrong.
I'm sorry, kos.
See?
It's not that hard.

I post this diary for two reasons.
- To amend my stance in light of new evidence (Not, I repeat NOT, because people bullied, ridiculed, and attacked me for my argument.)
None of the many different aspects of the arguments in that diary have changed. But due to kos' recent tweets the title may now be considered untrue, and I think I owe kos the apology anyway.
- Instead of stubbornly refusing to admit my past mistakes, I am trying to instead show a shred of humility and make amends.
Too often in the blogosphere life, people stubbornly cling to their beliefs despite any amount of evidence to the contrary. I have found this issue, superlative intransigence, if you will, to be a growing issue in our world today. This is perhaps best exemplified by the teabaggers who protest "higher taxes" despite the facts clearly showing over 95% of them have lower taxes today than they did just a few years ago.
Is their superlative intransigence any different from our own?
Of course not.
For fun, I did a little search. (Something I do a lot of these days)

Does your name show up?
Kudos to those that are big enough to utter those words.
However, it still seems it is hard for the majority to admit, no matter how much evidence is (or donuts are) presented to convince people they are off base.
Perhaps this community will be a more effective and unified voice if those of us who have offended others were more inclined to utter those three words. Or the even tougher two-and-a-half-word addendum.
I'm sorry.

Please allow me to use this space to plug a much better and more important diary from earlier today that had a too-short stay on the rec list:
A Dirty Dozen FAQs on the Good, Bad, and Ugly Climate Bill
by RLMiller
discusses my pet issue the subject of my previous diary, for those, like kos, who care about climate change.
I hope we get more good discussion about the eminent climate bill. It is the defining issue of our generation by which our descendants will judge us.
