In shocking news this week the President left the announcement of Easter up to the Vatican, what a flabbergasting show of irresponsibility. If he was a true American patriot he would have usurped Christ's Vicar in declaring Easter is here.
Just another example of how this president is diminishing American exceptionalism; the Easter Bunny is ours, and does not belong to some incense toking Pope in Rome. How can Americans launch the egg hunt if our leader fails to tell us that Easter has arrived, how would we know? He must be a Muslim!
By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha.
The White House also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday. However, they did release an eight-paragraph statement heralding Earth Day. Likewise, the president's weekend address mentioned neither Good Friday or Easter.
My god whatever next;? Will they forget to remind us that there are only 40 shopping days left until Christmas?
Personally I always thought it was the job of the corporations to remind us just when the holidays were due and we were expected to enter their doors and spend generously. There often used to be a slight hint about religion or something, I just think that was due to some spurious religious denominations profiteering from the corporations hard work.
Look lets just get the record right.
GE can remind us it is Christmas with Rudolph guiding the sleigh.
Goldman Sachs lays the golden eggs for Easter by cooking your goose.
Can Fortnum & Mason's do Lent?
Problem solved?
There I was thinking that Christians could remember their own holy days, sadly they seem to forget.
Sigh, more BS from the right.
