People like rfall here, and others, please give me some advice here. I hate getting unsolicited generic advice, but I just loves getting specific advice I've asked from my friends here. Thanks!
Okay, as some of you here know, I've been living in this place with an attic fan and no a/c for several years. That all is very good, but I'm getting increasingly nervous about the weather (as some of my friends here who are climate workers will easily understand).
I think I need to get an air conditioner. I don't want a swamp cooler. Please do not waste our time talking about swamp coolers.
I want an air conditioner, a little one. Smallest possible. One that will service just a couple of rooms, keep them down to at least 90 when it's 110 outside, something like that.
I think I have to stick it in a window, right? I can do that.
Can I get one mail ordered? Can I do this for less than $150?
Can you discuss this at some length in case other people might be interested?
Yes, of course you can.
Goal here is to get a good small tool that I won't use unless it's really necessary. I'm a little worried about my furry dog, too.
I'm seeing it as kind of an emergency device, but also something I can use to cool down my computer room, my office, so I can work during the day in the summer. Because when it gets into the 90's too high, this Dell puppy kicks on all of its fans and I know that's not good.
I'm good at closing off this space; it's very well insulated and I can work on the rest, with the attic fan.
But my experience these last few years since I started blogging was that I would just stop using the puter until about ten p.m. in the summer, and then I stay up all night, and that's limiting.
People often have advice about what's limiting in my life; B-man pointed out to me recently that my hours are a big problem. He was onto something there.
But my hours are shaped by the weather, and by my computer's frailties, to some extent.
I know you guys (by "guys" I mean all genders) can help, because you always do, you always can.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks!
