From HP and Conservative Tree House:
An Amtrak train made an unexpected stop Sunday, as a woman was escorted off for speaking loudly on her cell phone.
Train operators called police due to passenger complaints, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Beard's car was designated a "quiet car."
Lakeysha Beard (39) told Portland's KATU News that she felt "disrespected" by the incident.
All I've got to say to this one is - GOOD FOR AMTRAK.
There are few things more annoying than self-centered people who force others to tolerate their inane conversations because they never learned how to function in polite society.
I don't care who you are, where you grew up, how you grew up, how loud your parents were or how deaf you are - when it comes to enclosed spaces and crowds HAVE SOME FUCKING RESPECT FOR OTHER HUMAN BEINGS.
Lakeysha Beard of Tigard was charged with disorderly conduct after police said she got into a “verbal altercation” with train passengers on Sunday.
The other passengers complained she refused to put down her cell phone, even after train staff made repeated announcements for passengers to not use cell phones, according to police. When a passenger confronted her about her loud talking, police said Beard got aggressive. She had reportedly been talking non-stop on the phone since getting on the train in Oakland, Calif.
And if you can't, well, don't complain about how disrespected you were when authorities do what they probably should have done the minute you opened your cakehole and started shouting. Also, at 39-fucking-years-old, this woman should have learned some lessons in your life that would teach you this isn't they way to treat others.
What's more, these type of people are always the same - self-absorbed, belligerent, profoundly disrespectful of others and entitled.
Let her sue. Let her go through every last cent she has trying to pry money she has no right to from the hands of large corporations like Amtrak. Maybe if we're lucky, she'll run out of money to pay her cellphone provider and we'll all be better off for it.
