Hey, everybody! We're wrapping up our first week here at Daily Kos Elections, and I thought it would be a nice idea if we took a "roll call" of sorts. For those of you new to DKE, we're an official sub-site of Daily Kos devoted specifically to elections coverage. (And if you're wondering who the heck I am, I'm the new Political Director for Daily Kos. You might remember me by my old handle, DavidNYC.)
Anyhow, DKE is also the successor to a site called the Swing State Project, which I ran for many years. We've always focused on discussing electoral, campaign-trail politics, rather than debating policy, and we're trying to maintain that emphasis in our new home. (So far, so good, I think!) For more on our background, please check out the DKE Mission Statement.
So if you're a "Swingnut" whose made your way over from SSP, please say hi in the comments! (And if you're using a different username, tell us what you used to go by at the old site.) By the same token, if you're a Kossack who has discovered us in the last week and enjoys the kinds of topics we cover & the sorts of discussions we have, we're really glad you're here, so please introduce yourselves, too!
This diary is brought to you by DK Elections, an official Daily Kos sub-site. Please read our
Mission Statement. Our focus is on electoral politics rather than policy. Welcome aboard!
