It has become a typical Republican pattern. When a very few people decide to cause a very bad problem instead of looking for real solutions they pursue either the same policies that have caused the problem or actually reward those that profited from the problem. In the end their vision for America boils down to this. A very few Americans, them included of course should profit from any wealth generated by our country while the rest of us fight for the scraps.
It is almost shameful to behold and insulting to bear. Even more demoralizing is due to a steady propoganda campaign and a segment of the population that seems always so whipped up on lies and hatred that they do not even care that they are destroying the American dream for themselves and just about everyone they love, it has worked enough to destroy the American middle-class, skyrocket national debt for profit, crash the economy and then demand that working America not only pay for it, but give up the social safety net provided for them.
So when the Oil Companies jack up gas prices to once again enjoy record profits while of course working America suffers what do Republicans want to do to respond?? End regulation on them and turn over huge parts of America for them to befoul, and for what?? More profits for them and no relief for us.
And who better to deliver the message than the queen of the idiot-right Sarah Palin. She is constantly there to fire up the "base" of the Republican Party who either or too ignorant or simply will never admit that the Republican leadership cares nothing of anything but enriching themselves and their enablers at the cost of us all. Even those that want you to keep you government hands off their Medicare.
So here is Sarah Palin once more. After showing with her "death panels" that nothing is too shameless for her to push she is at it again. This time she is lying about gas prices and trying to push the Republican solution to everything. When failed policies are destroying America to solve them simply reward those who profit from them and continue them. Remember Drill Baby Drill??:
Now after being so wrong about that Palin is back. This time trying to convince America that the solution to gas prices is to reward the gas companies with more profit as they continue to milk the average American and stall the economic rebound for our country as a whole. Just listen:
And of course people that know what the hell they are talking about disagree. The fact is that "drill baby drill" would do "nothing baby nothing" to help real Americans but would allow a now deregulated corporations who showed no morality when regulated to befoul and destroy more land that belongs to all of us:
Michael Canes, a distinguished fellow at the Logistics Management Institute and former chief economist of the American Petroleum Institute, who disagrees with Obama's drilling policies said "It's not credible to blame the Obama Administration's drilling policies for today's high prices because of the relative scales involved." He further stated:
World oil prices are determined in a market of around 85 million barrels per day of production and consumption, while the consequences of domestic drilling, particularly in the Gulf, likely would be more in the range of several hundred thousand to one million barrels per day, and most of that production would not occur for a number of years. As always, Republican facts just never check out:
We talked to Fadel Gheit, a former Mobil Oil executive who is now a senior energy analyst at Oppenheimer & Co. Asked about the impact of the deepwater moratorium, Gheit said the moratorium had a "negative impact on production, but not as much as the politicians would like us to believe." The impact of the moratorium on gas prices? "Nothing. Zero," he said.

The real fact is that the kind of energy Palin is shilling for is running its course. It is no longer sustainable and needs to be replaced. We have know this for a long time and have allowed greedy politicians to be bought off by those who profit by the old system to not get serious about investing in research and development of a new way.
We simply cannot overlook it any longer. With American innovation and ingenuity, investing in our own people we can create a new industry growing, refining and shipping the fuels of the future right here in our own country. We could create American jobs in many regions of the country that desperately need them.
Nobody is going to tell me it cannot be done. America simply has to invest in her people once more. Sadly, it is never going to happen until Americans actually start standing up to the politicians and those that buy them off for profit and demand they stop impeding progress for our nation as a whole.
The sad truth is too many people will listen to Sarah Palin and once again a few will profit while the rest of us suffer.
