To be expected by a right wing shitbag like Bozell, naturally, posting on Newsbusters (of course) and linked to by the "always-a-tool" Talkers.com, whose Industry News column disingenuously prattles:
...going after each other’s advertisers with threats of guilt-by-association in order to hurt the other’s business is something in which they have rarely engaged. The reason is simple: It pollutes the same body of water from which all broadcasters drink. If one day your programming is poison to sponsors, who’s to say my programming won’t be tainted next week.
Emphasis mine.
I can tell you right now MY programming won't be tainted next week, because I have no intention of going on the air and calling someone's daughter a slut and a prostitute.
More under the squiggoleth.
kbman has a reclisted diary right now titled, "Classic dittohead LTE and my response", and Bozell's sneering drivel at Newsbusters, frankly, isn't much better than the letter that prompted that diary.
Dear Mr. Griffin,
Your network, working on marching orders from Media Matters, is on a mission to take Rush Limbaugh off the air. Far from being an independent journalistic enterprise, MSNBC is the very essence of a political lapdog of the far left.
Hooo boy. Off to a rip roaring start.
These assaults by MSNBC have nothing to do with what he said about Sandra Fluke, and everything to do with censoring prominent voices on the right.
Liar. MSNBC's "assaults" are motivated by the same factors that has caused the Rush Limbaugh show to lose over 140 advertisers so far. Nice try at a pivot, it won't fly.
Bozell then goes on to list 12 things Ed Schultz said that hurt his fee-fees, one of which got him suspended for a week and a guest spot on Dr. Laura, none of which even remotely approach the level of the sustained three day sexualized assault on a young woman's character driven by lie after lie after lie about her testimony before Congress. Not even in the same ballpark.
If what Rush said is so offensive that it deserves your network's obsession with having him removed, then what are you going to do about a host who has a history of insults a hundred-fold worse than anything Limbaugh has ever said? Unless you fire Ed Schultz, you are a complete hypocrite.
It's time you take responsibility for hiring and promoting this hate-filled misogynist, and resign.
A hundred fold worse than anything Rush ever said? What universe do you live in, Bozell?
“Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.”
“The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.”
[To an African American female caller]: “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.”
“You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.”
“I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.”
"The phony soldiers." - on U.S. service members who support withdrawal from Iraq
"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. ... This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting."
"Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society."
"They oughtta change Black History Month to Black Progress Month and start measuring it."
“When a gay person turns his back on you, it is anything but an insult; it's an invitation”
I could easily go on, but you get the picture.
A copy of this letter is being sent to Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and CEO of Comcast. Under separate cover we are sending him another letter, calling on him to take responsibility for employing you. We intend to take this message directly to the shareholders of Comcast as well. I doubt very much they want to have anything to do with race-baiting, hate-filled, character-assassinating misogynists.
Sincerely,
L. Brent Bozell III

Send away, Bozell. I don't think Comcast or MSNBC are the slightest bit worried about what some relatively unknown conservative shit slinger throws up on a right wing trash-talker site like Newsbusters, any more than they would worry about an open letter from Corsi or Joseph Farah.
You, however, may continue to sneer, snarl, and dissemble to your heart's content.
Rush Limbaugh will continue to bleed advertisers and support, and ultimately become a liability to the stations that carry his poison, and we will continue to do what we do.
Have a nice day, skippy.
