What follows is another poll that shows Obama getting stronger by the day. This is becoming a trend. However, this poll contains so much more information and the conclusion that Obama is now performing at almost the identical 2008 levels across most demographics. Check out these findings from the latest National Journal poll:
1. Boosted by growing optimism about the economy, President Obama is showing signs of reassembling the coalition of support that powered him to his 2008 presidential victory.
2. Obama’s approval rating rose to 51 percent, up from only 44 percent in each of the previous NJ polls taken in October and December.
3. This is the first time in the NJ poll that Obama’s approval rating crossed the critical 50 percent threshold since September 2009.
4. His approval rating rose 11 percentage points among independents;
5. Rose 8 among nonwhites;
6. Rose 6 among all whites;
7. Rose 7 among both college-educated white men and women;
8. Rose 9 among the so-called waitress moms—white women without a college degree.
9. Only among noncollege-educated white men did Obama remain stuck in neutral
10. His approval ratings among Hispanics have surpassed his 2008 levels (72 percent versus 67 percent)
11. Improved with college-educated white men (44 percent versus 42 percent).
12. The president’s approval ratings among younger whites (41 percent) and white independents (40 percent) remain well below his 2008 totals.
13. For all whites and all independents, Obama’s approval ratings in the latest poll are the highest since the October 2009.
14. 60 percent saying they expected the economy to improve over the next year
I know there's a long way to go but things are starting to look really hopeful.
