A Houston area cop went crazy last night and threatened to taze a Black man who was filming stuff. Unfortunately, it is cops like this who are giving police a bad name and who are driving up crime around the nation. As reported here, the cop, without probable cause, picked a fight with two men who were filming something at the Wal-Mart. When the young men refused to cooperate, he threatened to taze them and demanded that they show ID.
The situation then got out of control as the cop began to flip out:
The man repeated “We are leaving,” to which the officer responded, “You’re not going anywhere now. You put your hands on me. You are not going anywhere.”
“Let me see your ID right now,” the officer repeated, adding, “Turn that off!”
“Because you’re videotaping me and I want to know who you are,” the officer said.
“Yeah you are hostile,” the cop quickly said. “’Cause you’re non-compliant with me.”
“You’ll put your hands on me. You’ll put your hand up, to stop me from what I’m doin’, okay.”
Finally, the cop went over the top and said in effect, "Fuck the Constitution."
This seemed to put the officer over the top as he then said that he would call over a squad car, “and then see how well you know the Constitution.”
The Houston Police Department is frantically trying to cover their rears on this one, claiming that the cop does not work for their department. And then they wonder why NWA came out with the song entitled:
