Mitt Romney on Birmingham radio
earlier today talking about the upcoming Alabama and Mississippi primaries:
Well, I realize that it's a bit of an away game, but I also think we're going to pick up some support in the states that remain this month.
Okay, I get that Mitt Romney is obsessive about calibrating expectations, and I get that Mitt Romney has legitimate reasons to be worried about whether or not he can win a Republican primary in the South ... but trying to win votes from southerners by saying their primaries are "away games"? Could he possibly be any more awkward?
As if to answer my own question, Romney went on to say that he finds the nomination process to be "tiring" and that he always tries to go to sleep with a "full tummy" of "cold cereal."
I admit that by the end of the day I am tired, and I mean I always eat something at the end of the day. My favorite is cold cereal, so I try to eat some cold cereal at the end of the day. And I've had a full tummy and a long day puts me right to bed.
Well, okay then. It's
not "life is like a box of chocolates" ... but it's damn close.
