Thank you for joining us for this, the second night of our Obama Nightly News.
Welcome !!! The purpose of this regular series is to promote enthusiasm and action among Daily Kos members. Willard will likely outraise President Obama. However, we believe that we can still win if (1) we can remain competitive financially and (2) we volunteer more (GOTV, canvassing, phonebanking, LTE, ...) .
Sick today - perservered through interviews and posting our Obama Nightly News tonight ! I apologize in advance for the imperfections in this diary - I tried my best !
Voter Registration Information is provided on the Obama Nightly Edition every Tuesday - if there are more requests I am happy to do it on other days. This is not only to make sure our Kossacks are registered to vote and able to vote, but to help them to be able to share this with others. It is extremely important. I can't emphasize this enough.

TomP wrote an excellent diary explaining some good news : President Obama won a WTO verdict against China . It will help create 6,000 jobs in the United States.
White House spokesman Jay Carney called the ruling a "win" that showed "our determination to go after China's efforts to distort global trade rules".
"That is precisely why 3.5 years into the president's first term we have doubled the rate of WTO cases against China, versus the prior administration," he told reporters aboard Air Force One.

Polling
President Obama, , has successfullyextina reports defined Willard in swing states with Firms which went viral , over 1 million views.
Polling suggests President Obama’s attacks on Mitt Romney’s private-equity background at Bain Capital are hurting the presumptive GOP nominee in key swing states.
Mitt Romney needs to make a positive case for why he should be President. He has been neutered. As governor, his state was 47th in the nation in job creation. He has no other political experience at all. None. This leaves only his "business experience". However, at Bain Capital, he was responsible for increasing the wealth of himself and other investors. Vulture capitalism has nothing to do with job creation. Willard showed no ability to create jobs at all. If one wanted to find out how to take a lot of money and turn it into the same amount of money, then Willard has some knowledge and expertise. However, of job creation, he knows nothing at all. So, his business experience does not answer the most pressing question : How do we create jobs.
Worse yet, Rmoney now can no longer even bring up the topic with independent media and real journalists. For, the moment he does so, he knows that he will be exposed by questions to which he has no good answers: Did he file falsely with the SEC ? If not, then he was the CEO , sole shareholder, and chairman of the Board at Bain Capital, the controlling person, during the period from 1999-2002 and thus responsible for its vulture activities.
Nate talks us down off the ledge regarding the voter suppression .
(1) No matter what Nate says, we need to fight these laws - (a) by fighting them in court (b) by fighting them in the state legislatures (c) in the court of public opinion and (d) by getting our voters registered .
(2) No matter what, we need to work out hearts out if we want to win. There cannot be any complacency. Even if Nate's writing on this topic are more optimistic than what we guessed, we cannot be complacent. This diary in no way encourages us to do anything less than 100% to get President Obama reelected.
If you are able, please considercontributingPresident Obama's reelection campaign . The work, the President's team is doing now is essential, the easiest and best path to winning. He is defining Mitt Romney to voters in swing states right now.

While at a teaching job fair, I fell into a political discussion with a transplanted Indiana native who wished to teach social studies here. He believed that Newt was the reason for the surplus. He believed that debt should not be incurred during a recession or depression. He believed that George W Bush was not conservative enough. He also believed that FDR pushed austerity policies through which saved the economy.
He blamed President Obama for the unemployment rate.
It turns out that my formal academic education in his teaching area was, I humbly say, superior to his (most of my degrees are in mathematics ). I disabused him of all of these notions. I pointed out the Works Progress Administration stimulated the economy (growth out of this was uneven and took some time ). I pointed out that, at the end of the day, there are only so many sources of spending : Consumers (not happening), Businesses (not investing), Imports (no ), leaving us with the federal government. I won't bother recapping it any more than this, but after laying out facts , ..., it went unrefuted.
Bonus : I have 5 interviews that came out of this teaching job fair - certified math , bilingual ed, ESL , ....
Wish me luck on them

Jon Stewart skewers Willard on Bain .
Stewart tried to paraphrase the Republican candidate’s defense: “I was just the guy with the smoke-screenish, yet still legal, title of CEO and managing director, who was paid at least $100,000 a year to do what, according to me, Mitt Romney, was nothing. And that’s the kind of common-sense business experience I hope to bring to the White House.”

Presidential / Vice Presidential Schedule
Mostly, the President is speaking to supporters in San Antonio today.
The Vice President is meeting with an Australian delegation.
*******************
The Romney campaign is getting desperate since Bain is causing the Romney campaign so much pain
In another attempt at distracted voters with shiny objects, the Rmoney campaign claims that they may name Willard's running mate this week.
However, I am pretty confident that they will not. They barely n amed who the aides would be to the vice presidential running mate.
