In addition to John Sununu letting the Ryan Medicare Cut Cat out of the bag and down the street as he admitted, finally, that Paul Ryan's Medicare Plan Includes the Same $716 Savings as Obama's, while trying to argue that the Romney Plan, which also includes vouchers, is "very different" from Ryan's - we now have this comment from Senator Bernie Sanders which directly challenges the Reince Priebus claim that "Obama has Blood on his Hands".
Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said on Monday's The Ed Show that cuts to Medicaid would mean a "death sentence for a whole lot of people all over this country."
"Let's be very clear, a lot of people don't understand this," he said, "This year alone, we're going to be losing 45,000 people who die because they don't get to a doctor when they should. If Medicaid is significantly cut, that number will increase significantly."
Yes, something that hasn't been discussed is that the Ryan Plan cuts $600 Billion from Medicaid in addition to keeping the Obama Medicare Savings of $716 Billion.
Obama reduced payments to providers in Medicare Advantage, the already privatized and more expensive portion of Medicare, and is setting up and Advisory Payment Board to suggest ways to improve efficiencies in Medicare Spending without reducing Benefits.
In fact, the Affordable Care Act has Added Benefits to Medicare by closing the Prescription Drug Donut Hole and providing preventive screenings without deductibles or co-pays.
You can't point a finger a service or benefit that has been "CUT" from Medicare by President Obama. You can't point your finger and identify a single Person who has been harmed or lost access to care because of the Affordable Care Act.
That. Hasn.'t. Happened.
You can't put someone on camera like Joe Soptik who can tell a sad story about losing their wife due to their loss of healthcare and point a cold steely finger of blame at President Obama.
Not that that fact has stopped Republicans from doing exactly that - without evidence.
Here, Bernie Sanders finally brings up back to reality.
Sanders also pushed back against Republicans who claim that the $700 billion being reallocated from Medicare was "robbed" from seniors. Romney made the claim on Sunday—the same day that RNC Chair Reince Priebus accused Obama of having "blood on his hands" for that very reason.
Senator Sanders explained that the Affordable Care Act did not cut benefits for seniors but instead made how those benefits are dispersed "more efficient." Earlier on Monday, Lean Forward reported that the $700 billion came out of payments to "some hospitals, private insurers, and on prescription drugs as a way to control costs on the country's burgeoning health care bill."
Of Ryan's Medicare plan, Sanders said, "Everyone understands that they are destroying Medicare as it is currently constituted."
Yes, they are destroying it - and their taking their American People with them.
