The Obama campaign has yet to go on offense on Medicare. The last ad they had was a response ad. But with today's attack ad it is on!
It ends with "Mitt Romney, an end of the Medicare promise". I think that is a better description of what the voucher system would do. The saying "ends Medicare as we know it" has a punch but "ends the Medicare promise" is also descriptive with a wallop.
It is a great ad and it is a start. It discusses how Romney wants to break the guarantee of Medicare with a voucher program which means that Seniors would be at the mercy of insurance companies.
I would like Obama and the Democrats to do an attack ad on just how CURRENT Seniors would be impacted by Romney's Medicare ending plan including higher premiums NOW because putting $716 billion back into insurance companies/waste/fraud etc would actually increase premiums by $300 per year, closing of the doughnut hole so higher prescription drug costs, and paying for preventative care when it is now free.
But hopefully that is just around the corner. I would like to see Biden park himself in Florida and Ohio talking about Medicare to Seniors. I would also like to see Bill Clinton out there as well but he is most likely going to be the October Surprise.
