Of course this is relegated to an online blog rather than the actual, real newspaper that people read for the information they need:
Gov. Scott Walker is headed to Texas this week for a fundraiser at the mansion of billionaire Harlan Crow, a strong supporter of conservative causes.
The fundraiser is scheduled for tomorrow at Crows mansion:
Crow's mansion is known for its backyard garden full of statues and relics of dictators, assassins and despots -- including Mao Zedong, Vladimir Lenin, Fidel Castro, and Joseph Stalin -- and such World War II Axis figures as Benito Mussolini and Hermann Göring, commander of Nazi Germany's air force.
What, no Hitler statue?
OK, so the guy apparently reveres bully RW strongmen. Got it. But aren't these the same guys the RW also hates (or pretend to hate)? After all they're all "Commies" or Nazis. Perhaps all the hate they gin up is just a pretext to keep the masses fearful in order to keep those megabucks flowing into the hands of the military industrial complex. Who knows?
Maybe this is yet another example of RW hypocrisy. But it really is bizarre to find that this RW billionaire seems to be a fan-boy of some of the most detested people in history.
So who is this billionaire?
Crow -- the son of real estate developer Trammell Crow -- is a member of the committee that helped found Club for Growth, a conservative outfit that raises money in support of conservative candidates and causes.
The plot is now thickening. Follow me beyond the cheese doodle.
Hmmm, one of the founders of the Club for Growth. One of 5 organizations being investigated by a secret John Doe looking into illegal coordination with Wisconsin political campaigns.
And we have a bit more information today (also inside of a blog post - don't want those voters to be informed about what is REALLY going on when it's bad news for the GOP) as some records were unsealed:
But with court filings unsealed last week, we now know more about the undercover probe than ever before — from why and when it started to the fact that the special prosecutor is preparing a legal challenge to a court order quashing subpoenas.
Here are the facts:
In August 2012, Milwaukee County prosecutors filed a petition seeking to launch the John Doe investigation into the recall races prompted by Gov. Scott Walker's legislation to curb the power of state employee unions.
From the outset, the probe focused on possible "illegal campaign coordination between (name redacted), a campaign committee, and certain special interest groups," according to a filing signed by the five district attorneys in the case.
The campaign committee under the microscope?
Almost certainly it's the Friends of Scott Walker, the governor's campaign committee.
"Good guess," said one source familiar with the probe. "That's it."
While Judge Peterson recently blocked subpoenas issued to Friends of Scott Walker, Wisconsin Club for Growth and Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, most people believe that this decision will be appealed.
In particular, Club for Growth (which the Walker fundraising billionaire helped found) looks to be chin deep in this since Republican political strategist R.J. Johnson worked for both Walker's campaign and Wisconsin Club for Growth during the recalls. How could there NOT have been coordination?
It may be quite some time before we get anything else from John Doe II, but in the meantime, Walkers out grabbing megabucks for his re-election campaign and dreaming of a Presidential run (I'll bet he's dancing on his desk at Chris Christies political downfall - less competition for him). And if the money comes from a fan-boy of dictators, no problem. It spends just the same.
Stay tuned.

Update: H/T to Tony Starks in the comments who found a link to an even better expose of this bizarre statue collection and its owner.
MORE!
Is Wisconsin going to join the 21st Century?
Four same-sex couples sued Gov. Scott Walker and other public officials Monday in an attempt to overturn the state's seven-year-old amendment to the state constitution banning gay marriage.
The lawsuit, which Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen immediately pledged to fight, also seeks to block the state's obscure "marriage evasion" law that makes it a crime for couples here to get married in another state if the marriage wouldn't be recognized in Wisconsin.
"I believe we should be allowed to marry the person we're in love with...and we deserve the freedom to do so," plaintiff Marie Carlson said at a news conference announcing the suit.
The latest lawsuit, filed Monday in federal court in Madison, argues Wisconsin's ban on gay marriage violates the U.S. Constitution's guarantee of due process and equal protection under the law.
Some of the couples involved in the suit said they had decided not to marry in neighboring states because they feared facing $10,000 fines or stints of up to nine months in jail.
"I really don't want to take the risk of finding out out if we're going to be prosecuted," plaintiff Judi Trampf said at the news conference.
With marriage equality coming to states like Utah (Utah? Now that's saying something) via court challenges, I'm sure the RWNJs are going to pull out all the stops to prevent equality coming to Wisconsin.
The religious right and RW trolls are already all over this actual real article that appeared in the news (unlike GOP bad news and failures that should be in the news).
