..yes amnesty; one of the more powerful words that to a corrupt party, its control, meaning and its use remains so valuable to the GOP.
Stop the Con: Don't vote republican
So here's the thing dear republican voter; the word amnesty or freedom or liberty or rights
(as in civil rights) with special regard to patriotism, are only valuable to the 1%ers when they are bent backwards to mean the opposite as a shield for corporate corruption then aimed at
you and immigrants (amnesty for instance) as a distraction. Words that are the
weapon the
elite handed out or "marketed" to workers to bash themselves with. A
divide & conquer strategy while the
elite 1%ers sneak off with the spoils of a war they themselves are to chicken-shit to fight
Actually, that isn't quite it. Too chicken-shit is missing the point. The elite 1%ers can't win even if they weren't cowards. Oligarchs; hiding behind a firewall of the people. So they pit groups of people against one another fighting a war they sold, and way too many of us bought. So far, they have been winning that war. A pretty incredible feat - 1% versus 99%
The good news is; we can disarm the plutocrats by taking all these words and their purpose back. They're hurting us. Why continue being suckered by the 1%ers?
The reality is the "conservative" elite (mostly but not limited to republican) and their elite corporate megaphone, Fox News Advertising agency will never broadcast that they actually fear these words. But they do. Words like amnesty, freedom, or liberty and many more. These words are a danger to "conservatives", 1%ers, and corporations that siphon off, horde and control vast amounts of wealth. They must own them, their meaning and all rhetorical rights to them or the so-called supply side "conservatives" become exposed and vulnerable; open to the most casual observance; to the line of sight onlooker that they are engaged in criminal activities; with a platform based on actually securing the "freedom" to continue ignoring both science and the economic devastation this wealth extraction causes, while shifting the blame onto others
The main underlying reason for this Con, this party of advertisers to exist, is that they do not supply wealth. They steal it, horde it, and manipulate it. It is labor that produces all wealth. But that's going deeper into the next series up steps needed and not the primary focus of this message for any republicans worker who might read this.
This post is a first step of sorts. It's about words as cover for crimes that hurt all people regardless of party affiliation, and not a little bit
Amnesty:
It includes more than pardon, in as much as it obliterates all legal remembrance of the offense. Amnesty is more and more used to express "freedom" and the time when prisoners can go free.
It's no wonder the republican establishment Fox & friends relish making false accusations using the word amnesty and jealously guard it. It goes hand in hand with corrupting the meaning of freedom. Freedom to
assault immigrant families and minorities when it's convenient and to misuse into meaning the opposite in order to preempt its use when amnesty is absolutely the perfect word to cover corporate corruption, pollution, and financial shenanigans -
"and for other purposes" - like covering for
war crimes that caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and ravaged lands that will take decades to heal.
This - imo - is why the word 'Amnesty' is so precious to the GOP. They have received amnesty by the ton load for what they have wrought for decades in most every conceivable manner that could be considered.
There is virtually nothing that the "conservative" movement republicans haven't done or instigated that isn't fraud or a crime; if not directly flouting laws, then by re-writing the legal codes (see: ALEC as just one of many corporate quick-stop legislation mills) making the crime legal. Laws regular people never voted for, and for this they receive almost complete amnesty
So it's one of the republicans favorite hate words - Amnesty - over and over again,, stretched between many different issues, from immigration, where amnesty is used in a corrupted form to denigrate and assault immigrants and their families
Amnesty or 'appeasement' used to slander anyone as "un-patriotic" who would criticize those war-mongers anxious to preemptively invade to seize control of one or any number Middle Eastern/Northern African/ Western Asian countries based on a pack of lies at tax payer expense to secure more profits to private Big Oil "interests"
But when it comes to corporate corruption? You'll never hear the republicans calling it amnesty to describe the violations by corporate polluters or the thieves on Wall street getting off with a hand slap, a wink and a nod
Another word we hear bandied about in stern admonition is "Traditional". "Traditional this" and "traditional that". "Tradition Americans" as the opening salvo in most any republican lecture on most any topic. A bit further down the page I've posted an audio recording of a republican, William Gheen, using this dog-whistle to hide blatant and often deadly racism. Despite Chief Justice John Roberts facile notion that acknowledging racism is what creates racism. We have 'lynchings' to this day, 2014
Racism designed to divide and conquer. To have workers compete for jobs, with ever stagnating wages. To trick workers into believing that getting together to collectively bargain for a fair percentage of what they have produced is anti-American. Unions as a dirty words and membership as a bad thing, so that corporations can maintain an "excess labor pool", a "loose labor market" to ensure workers will be forced to compete for jobs at rock bottom wages. Corrupting the word 'Rights' as in "right to work" laws to make that happen.
In truth there is more work that needs doing in this country than we have workers to do them. We should have a surplus of jobs judging by the signs of a crumbling infrastructure and the need to modernize our energy grid (and many more needed green energy projects connected) that can be seen in any state in this country just be looking around. But instead of investing in a future of prosperity for all as we did coming out of the Great Depression with the New Deal, a WPA, CCC, NYA the GOP has slashed investment and instigated crushing economic starvation - a program of austerity by spreading the lies and fear purely for partisan political gain.
Investment of course would mean that corporations would compete for our labor at our price and not the other way around. That scenario could happen if not for the republican party of so-called "conservatives" - another piece of the swindle and the reason the GOP exists today.
We workers were starting to build a better America with shared prosperity; building a strong middle class until the early 1970's when the corporate heads got together around an idea voiced in the Powell memo. The memo was a blueprint to dominate democracy in order roll back the New Deal, cutting off the workers of America from our share of our labor and any real voice in our their government. Fox "News" the propaganda wing, essential to a party of a tiny minority of elites and gasbags like Rush Limbaugh, the herd of hyenas that inevitably gather, play their part in misinforming the public to further the GOP Con.
The result of this long term GOP deception?
Wealth and income disparity has grown to a size not seen since the last great depression, and most people are unaware of just how bad it is. It has been studied (pdf). People when questioned do not believe, for instance that 1% elite have captured nearly half of the wealth in this country and control a far higher percentage of financial assets, a reported $32 trillion of which are stashed off shore to evade taxes; or that Wall Street’s 2013 Bonuses Were More Than All Workers Earned Making the Federal Minimum
It is also why the GOP has spent decades demonizing Unions: As Union Membership Has Declined, Income Inequality Has Skyrocketed In The United States
And why immigrants are targeted as the "job stealing" culprit when nothing could be farther from the truth
That is the Con in service of trickle down voo-doo fairy dust economics aka Reaganomics. Nick Hanauer dispels the"job creator" myth" (video) sold as justification for massive tax cuts heavily favoring those most wealthy few.
The elite corporate titans had found their front man

Here is a rwnj tool, whose misguided Christianist racism the elite 1%ers happily use to divide and conquer:
William Gheen, terrorizing with one word while wheedling with the other (Voice of Christian Youth America - VCY America) on the republican immigration angle:
Immigration reform is just like “nation rape” (@ minute 0:29)
The truth, in my opinion after studying this for nine years, is that the purpose of the amnesty is to permanently destroy the borders of the United States, to permanently destroy the type of, what they would call, Nativist or nationalistic tendency for us to want to have borders and to protect those borders or for the American public and American workers and American taxpayers to have any say on the numbers of people that are coming into the country or what role they will have. I call it a national rape and I’m not being flippant about that, I really see it as that
[...]
..that hurts “traditional Americans” (@ minute 0:58)
Illegal immigration is leading to many thousands of Americans dead each year that are killed by drunk driving illegal immigrants, gang member illegal immigrants; illegal immigrants engaged in other types of activities end up killing Americans that would be alive today if our border were secured and our immigration laws were adequately enforced as Americans expect them to be and other countries do that.
[…]
.. costing the lives of thousands of Americans, ruining the lives of millions of Americans and eventually will lead to a situation where traditional Americans, like those that have been here for hundreds of years in descendancy, will no longer govern our own nation. Apparently we don’t now since we have these existing immigration laws that are not being enforced.
"Traditional Americans" huh?
There is too much wrong with that complete dismissal of an entire "tradition" of actual real First Peoples, the Native American Indian, that I'll leave that to the people with a deep knowledge to take on that pos statement.
Make no mistake; "traditional Americans that have been here for hundreds of years in descendancy ..." are
not you republican worker. The dog-whistle the GOP would have you hear is 'white Americans'. But that is the pander. The Con. see:
Old Money, or
Robber Barons or
Copper Kings of the
Gilded Age before workers formed enough union strength to fight for decent wages and weekends off, limiting the work day to 8 hours, safe working conditions, vacation time , child labor laws and much more.
Today's version of 'Old Money' are the Vulture capitalists like the Mitt Romney's of the world, outsourcing jobs and proud of it. Or the Wall Streeters hedging their gambling habits with main street America bailing them out when they screw up. Those that never had to or have done an honest days work in their lives
Iow's, Not You republican voting worker
And that asshole William Gheen from the audio track above, spewing those racist slurs is nothing but a corporate shill. Another puppet like a Steve King (R - IA) type republican who get their marching orders and racist attack memorandums out of the same garbage pile of corporate think tanks that write most all the laws the republican "lawmakers" for the most part these days aren't knowledgeable enough to do on their own, nor would that qualification be considered an asset if it didn't align with their corporate donor's wishes
But Gheen here is seriously blowing the spin job. His transparency is a real no-no for republican marionettes, as that gives up the game which is 99.9% of what and only what the GOP actually in reality is. A façade.
A Con; a sales pitch carefully crafted and marketed over time out of manipulated fear, hate, greed, suspicion , grievance, persecution, betrayal, and racial bias & anxiety with a healthy portion of God-fearing emotions masquerading as an ideology.
It's the hustle
Telling the truth and revealing the deception is one of the surest ways to fail in the republican party. Not much else. see: Todd "legitimate rape" Akin, Richard "God intended" Mourdock, Sharron Angle et al.
Then there's Ted Cruz; a sleazy bullshit artist with all of the qualities needed; smarmy, wheedling, profoundly dishonest, reveling in the attention he receives with his "Self Made" brand of cruelty in spreading lies that hurt people without the least compunction. Ted is entertainment - a republican
Today (2014) it seems grievance, fear, hatred and hysteria for war are the biggest GOP headliners, but the advertising business depends on variety as does a party of smoke & mirrors, so after giving away the scam, Gheen's speechifying will probably not be seen on Fox "News" - although it could, they still have Hannity & O'Reilly so who knows
Link to right wing watch reporting by Brian Tashman on Monday, 2/10/2014 2:35 pm: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/...
Pretty ugly stuff; sorry about that, but it seemed necessary to make the point. We've all heard these opinions coming from the party of "conservatives". Nothing new, but I posted that because that is the true intent, the read between the lines agenda of the GOP one doesn't see as clearly when they've put just the right Frank Luntzian spin to it

So Amnesty, according to republicans is a very bad thing when it comes to immigration reform even as GOP speaker of the house, John Boehner himself admitted that immigration reform is not amnesty at all. But the rwnj's love and fear that word too much to let it go or to stop misusing it in order to cover for its possible use by honest people who would direct it at the real recipients of unwarranted, undeserved amnesty - the GOP
The next word that stands out in rwnj "conservative" nomenclature is 'freedom'. They own that too. They have to, because what it means within the confines of the republican platform (fact-free cocoon) is exactly its opposite, whether it's the freedom for a corporation to dump toxins in any backyard they choose (strip mining & mountain top removal videos); abolish the EPA, enact laws that protect that dumping to laws that protect the murderers of innocents, whether by "standing ones ground" or invading a sovereign country; To remake the region as the Big Oil corporatists see fit - at tax payers expense
Liberty
the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views:
that is a big one for the right. One that they have zero right to claim. And yet they do. It's perhaps their biggest lie. The most all encompassing lie; one that the party of "conservatives" - the GOP - violate in every way imaginable on top of the normal every day oppression they put on people.
Just to list a few important violations of liberty that are at the very foundation of the GOP. The rock bottom base that holds up the façade created long ago for people to imagine is true but is not true at all.
So this list is for republican voters. How much of this very truncated list would you consider an important liberty?
• Since it's a current issue; the constitutional right of every person to vote.
• a women's equality including the right to autonomy and all that goes with it from dress code to child birth to equal pay for equal work
• minorities with equal treatment and justice under the rule of law
• the freedom for workers to get together, form Unions and collectively bargain for a fair share of the gains of their labor. The right to a living wage that does not demand two paychecks (dual incomes) to not merely survive, but to own a home, pay for college etc., with the guarantee that protects and values the workers right to time off for themselves and loved ones
• taxation that does not pre-distribute wealth where the primary distribution goes to those most wealthy, already exclusively advantaged by the current tax code
• the liberty of economic and social mobility and the 'right' to a fair & living wage with the security of keeping earned benefits and (social security) pensions intact for retirement
• an equal voice in choosing our representatives in "our" government. Representatives that mirror the diversity in our society
• the liberty to live and work towards a future (student Bethany Aslinger video) free from harmful pollution and the right to change the laws governing the polluters
• the liberty of learning. Education as a right - funded not by ownership of property and regionally apportioned, but equally from all, for all
• liberty from denial of medical care based on ability to individually pay - iow's healthcare as a right; again - from all for all
• liberty to live where these institutions of society as they are today, good, under attack, bad and worse (respectively) are not controlled by the negative incentive of profit motive: Health care; Public Education, Prisons, and National defense (DoD:functionally; our military Industrial Complex)
The republican so-called "conservative" agenda actively and knowingly violates every one of these liberties. Not as an accident or by mere incompetence, although there is plenty of that, but as their standard. The platform. Their creed of greed.
Just as one of many examples; here are two leading "conservative" publications that believe the American worker is lazy; has too much Leisure time or as Paul Ryan (republican) likes to put it: too much"hammock" time.
Do you, republican voter, believe you earn too much and have too much time off work? Well the corporate donors that buy your GOP representatives thinks you do
So in hopes of not coming off like preaching to the choir, for all those people that vote republican against their own interests, there is always a chance and the goal we Dems must work towards, that bit by bit the light will shine on in their minds.
When the republican politician they voted for says; 'yes, I believe that everyone deserves clean drinking water' yet votes to let a corporations of the hook for destroying those republican constituents own backyard. That republican representative is lying.
Or the lie that education is so important, yet slash and privatize for profit their children's future, especially when these republican voters can no longer afford to pay for their children's education and perhaps can remember a time when college was virtually for free until "conservatism" put its hand into the business and began sucking out profits
Turning to the lie that 'Freedom and liberty' means that a Hobby Lobby type decision can empower a women's employer, and that includes republican women, the right to decide whether or not a woman has affordable access to the full range of medical services including abortion and contraception (video). For the record. She is not according to the republican platform. Or the women's choice about having children or not, even in cases of rape or incest? Again, she is not allowed that 'liberty'
All these lies that republicans use to attach deceitful meanings to these these words will eventually become clear - to real mortal people that is - if the truth is told and understood

When republican presidential candidate Romney said: 'corporations are people too" - he was lying. Corporations are legal fictions. Charters that are beholden to shareholders with one paramount purpose - profit - and they don't die or go to prison like people do
Greed has no control, and a party whose creed is greed can not stop itself. There are no brakes on corporate greed or any amount of profit that is too much. It has and will backfire again (see: Wall Street melt down) and hurt republican voters who will be forced to see especially with us Dems showing a better way to get things done.
With so much at stake let's retake these words, these rhetorical weapons of the elite and use them in their true form against the 1%ers for a change. That means you too republican voter.
Question for republican voter: Do you really still believe that the republican you vote for has your best interest in mind? - please think again on this.
Here is a chart based on a study showing that it's the $$$money of the privileged few that buys representation.
Disparities in representation are especially pronounced for Republican senators, who were more than twice as responsive as Democratic senators to the ideological views of affluent constituents.
It's a

con
noun
• a swindle, scam. From "confidence trick" or "confidence game."
Confidence game is an attempt to defraud a person or a group by gaining their confidence. The method is usually adopted to obtain money or property of another person. This act of abusing the confidence of a person is a crime in the U.S. The main elements of confidence game are:
1. intentional false representation to a victim as to some present facts;
2. knowledge that the representation is false;
3. intention that a victim should rely on the representation; and
4. representations being made to obtain a victim’s confidence and thereafter his/her money and property.

Note: I repeated the war crimes link 3 times purposefully, but that should be the only link that is repeated - I'm pretty sure. Also too: kind of long winded, apologies; I had, and found all these links with no where else to put them - and it's election time all the time somewhere..
And besides, it really angers me that families who should be living and growing up together are denied that and being bludgeoned with a word that should have good connotations to it - amnesty as forgiveness
Amnesty for people who dream of a path to citizenship and a better life.

With one last blast from the past: What every republican worker should know - a list
Note: This is more of a list than a real Diary, aimed at workers who were raised republican and never thought to change. Just a few things that they may not know about voting republican - they can do much better for themselves, family and the land they live on. It's still a choice
Thanks for stopping by :)
