Received this e-mail today from Rep. Bruce Braley's (D. IA) U.S. Senate campaign:
Since 2007, it has been illegal in Iowa to discriminate against employees based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
Unfortunately, that’s not true in the rest of the country.
I have been a supporter of a law called the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) for a long time. It would eliminate workplace discrimination against LGBT individuals. It passed the Senate late last year. But to this day, Speaker Boehner and the Tea Party House have refused to hold a vote on it.
Our movement to end workplace discrimination is gaining ground fast. Just last week, President Obama announced plans to sign an executive order banning federal contractors from discriminating against LGBT employees.
It is far past time for the House to take action. Today, I’m joining with a number of my Democratic colleagues to gather support -- and I need you on board.
Demand Speaker Boehner and Republicans in the House end workplace discrimination in America. Sign our petition right now.

Getting a job should be based on your qualifications and your experience. Keeping your job should depend on your work performance. Neither of those things should have anything to do with who you love.
Everyone should be treated equally under the law. I know that. You know that. The President knows that.
Apparently, Speaker Boehner and Republicans in Congress don’t agree. Let’s show them why they should.
Join us -- demand the Speaker end workplace discrimination against the LGBT community. Add your voice to mine.

We’re swiftly moving toward a day when workplace discrimination will be a thing of the past.
But until then, thank you for all of your help.
Bruce
