Here's a funny thing about what's gotten Ted Nugent in trouble this time. He really didn't say what people think he said. This is what it was...
http://www.rawstory.com/...
Nugent had been slated to perform Aug. 4 at the Couer D’Alene Casino in Worley, Idaho, until the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hatewatch called Monday to ask about the concert.
The Hatewatch blog reported that tribal officials “sounded completely caught off-guard” by the request for comment, but the tribe abruptly cancelled the performance later that day.
So first the SPLC calls to get a response about Ted's history of Racist comments from the Casino, including things like calling the President a "
Subhuman Mongrel" which happens to be the same thing the Nazis called the Jews they condemned to torture and death. He's been so vile with his comments that even Bernard Goldberg [whose book about "Liberals who are destroying the country" directly inspired the Knoxville TN,
Unitarian Church Mass Shooter] found his comments so vile he
openly criticized Ted Live on Fox News
Please think about that: The guy whose big mouth inspired a mass murderer, thinks Ted talks too much.
And then Ted responded with the now quite well quoted "Unclean Vermin" comment, but the odd thing is that he wasn't talking about Native Americans when he said that, he was talking about the people who'd pushed the Tribe into canceling the show, which would be the SPLC, and of course Michael Moore, his fans, and other "smelly Liberals".
http://radio.com/...
"These sick, sick, stoned, hygiene-challenged Michael Moore fans, they call in and complain that I'm a racist, they claim I'm a pedophile, that I dodged the draft. They call all the promoters, they call all the venues, they call all my sponsors, every day."
So Ted wasn't calling Native Americans "Vermin" - he's was saying that about the
Southern Poverty Law Center, and Michael Moore Fans, and - well - basically
us. Liberals. Progressives. Anyone that
dares to disagree with him about gun safety, Sandy Hook, the Aurora Theater Tragedy and mass murderers like Elliot Roger.
Because for the Right-wing, to make a Moral Religious argument that you don't want to be associated in any way what-so-ever with what you think is something kinda sort like an abortion is just fine even it risks women losing access to medicine they need - but for Liberals to politely request that people who associate themselves with Ted Nugent and the verbal feces he's been spewing for years should potentially think twice about it is just - fucking beyond the PALE!
And yet, it got worse...
A second Casino has cancelled Nugent's shows, and at this rate since he basically lives his life on the has-been Casino Circuit that's a pretty ominous development for him if it begins a domino-effect across the country.
A Tacoma, Washington casino run by the Puyallup Native American Tribe announced Wednesday that it is canceling two scheduled concerts by 70s-rocker-turned-conservative-firebrand Ted Nugent.
Seattle’s Channel 5 reported that the Emerald Queen Casino canceled Nugent’s Aug. 2 and 3 shows, citing his history of “racist remarks.”
“The First Amendment gives people the right free speech, but I think racism is intolerable and not acceptable here,” Puyallup Tribal Council Vice President Lawrence W. LaPointe said. “We’ve been getting lots of complaints from the community and other organizations."
“I don’t want to take away his right to say what he wants to say,” LaPointe clarified, “but we don’t need it here.
Gradually, Nugent is becoming
Toxic to these venues.
But he thinks, still, that's it's all Michael Moore's fault.
“I am so good at advancing the most politically incorrect policies in the world,” the rocker told Radio.com. “I have been involved in upgrading our Second Amendment rights in all 50 states, so we the people can in fact keep and bear arms…the left hates that.
Actually what the Left Hates, is the bodies of dozens of dead kids. In Schools, In theaters, and the Streets of cities like Santa Barbara.
The liberal democrats and the Huffington Post and the Saul Alinsky gang, they hate that I’m so effective. I have expanded and increased hunting opportunities all across the globe. So I am able to, dare I say, perfectly articulate my case — they are not!
The 2nd Amendment isn't about "Hunting", unless you're a member of the Militia and you're hunting
traitors and invaders of the nation. Ted should try actually reading the 2nd Amendment some time, it actually does mention all of that.
Furthermore, states that have loose and unrestrictive gun laws are exactly the states where people are more likely to Die Because of Guns. So his theory of "Gun Safety" doesn't even work.
http://www.salon.com/...
In what states are guns most likely, and least likely, to kill people? Every day in America, nearly 90 people are killed by guns, a total of roughly 32,000 annually, according to federal gun violence statistics.
But blue states are far safer than red states, according new analyses of the most recent data. That’s because states with the most gun controls, which are almost all blue, tend to have fewer gun owners and fewer guns used in suicides, crime and domestic disputes.
Nearly two-thirds of all gun deaths are suicides. There, states with the highest gun ownership rates and loosest laws have the highest percentages of deaths this way. Otherwise, poverty is a major factor, correlating with gun violence.
“The five states with the highest per capita gun death rates in 2011 were Louisiana, Mississippi, Alaska, Wyoming, and Montana,” the Violence Policy Center (VPC) said in its latest analysis of federal statistics. “Each of these states has extremely lax gun violence prevention laws as well as a higher rate of gun ownership. The state with the lowest gun death rate in the nation was Rhode Island, followed by Hawaii, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. Each of these states has strong gun violence prevention laws and has a lower rate of gun ownership.”
But none of that deters ole' Ted, does it?
“So they literally have an army assigned to destroy Ted Nugent,” he went on. “To call me a racist is a clear act of desperation. Because everybody knows I’m not a racist! My [former] bass player Johnny Gunnel happens to be a black guy. My [former] bass player Marco Mendoza was born in Mexico! Are you kiddin’ me? I pay tribute to Martin Luther King in my songs, I’ve always said my music is a direct result of Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley, and all the black musical heroes of my life.”
Yeah, Ted, well I'm a Black Guy and I'm telling you right here and right now - I want my GOD DAMN MUSIC BACK from Fuckheads like YOU!
Also just because you once paid a black guy to play bass for you, doesn't put you on the good side of the equation in my book. He was just The Help!. You're current drummer, Mick Brown - and his brother - are in fact old friends of mine, from back when my wife ran the Official Fan Club of his former band Dokken, a when I lived in Sacramento which is where the Brown's are from. But it's not like even I'd consider Mick to be the height of morality or integrity after he slept and moved in with his bandmate Jeff Pilson's first wife Lisa. Jeff was wise enough to divorce her, and then the band. Apparently you aren't that quick on the uptake. Some people are just there for the paycheck Ted, accept it.
He added: “These sick, sick, stoned, hygiene-challenged Michael Moore fans, they call in and complain that I’m a racist, they claim I’m a pedophile, that I dodged the draft.
Well actually, Teddy, it was during your VH-1 Behind the Music Special that you admitted yourself that you had a thing for the "young ones" that you couldn't get control of. You even married an underage girl. Then it was you yourself who told a magazine that you
pissed and crapped yourself for days in order to get a 4F to avoid the Vietnam draft after your
five consecutive student deferments finally ran out. That may have been a B.S. story, but this is your draft card right here, and I do see a big fat "4F" on it after a set of school deferrals.
Yeah, that must have been those damn, dirty Liberals who put that "4F" on there. Yep.
And when Nugent got disinvited to a concert by the Army, it must have been Michael Moore - on the grassy knoll - who pulled off that hat trick shot.
Rocker Ted Nugent may have emerged unscathed from a Secret Service investigation, but his verbal attack of President Obama is now affecting his musical career.
Commanders at the Fort Knox Army base in Kentucky cut Nugent from their annual summer concert after the controversial rocker told the National Rifle Association he will “either be dead or in jail by this time next year” if Obama is re-elected and blasted members of the administration, saying conservatives should “chop their heads off.”
Guess what, President Obama was re-elected, and
you're still not Dead. Or in Jail. Yet. What was that about you're being so "effective" again?
Here's the thing Teddy, when you say stuff like this about Trayvon Martin.
“If you haven’t taught your children that non-blacks shouldn’t be referred to as ‘creepy a– crackers,’ then you have exposed your children to trouble just waiting to happen,” he wrote.
Because when a 17 year-old is being stalked and chased by a armed grown man only a few months after the revelations of the
Sandusky Case, in your world there's no reason in the world why he shouldn't be just fine with it. None what so ever. In the real world, not so much.
While saying stuff like this...
If their kids don’t “attack people, or hang out with the dopers or the gangsta crowd, this simply could not and will not happen to them.”
Yeah, but it does man - it happens to us all the time. From Sean Bell, to Oscar Grant, to Kendric McDade, Partrick Dorismond, Jonathan Ferrell, Renisha McBride, and far too many others.
And it really doesn't help your "I'm not a racist" case when you say things like this...
http://www.rawstory.com/...
Calling civil rights advocates “race baiters” who are part of a “racist industry” that has supposedly convinced African-Americans that they are helpless and “incapable of independence,” Nugent said African-Americans could “solve the black problem tonight” if only they would put their “heart and soul into being honest, law-abiding, [and] delivering excellence at every move in your life.”
“I would like to reach out to black America,” he continued, “and tell them to absolutely reject the lie of Al ‘Not So’ Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson, and the Black Panthers and Eric Holder and Barack Obama. They are enslaving you and the real shackles on black America, 100 percent of the time come from black America.”
“(R)acism against blacks was gone by the time I started touring the nation in the late [19]60s,” Nugent said, “Nothing of consequence existed to deter or compromise a black American’s dream if they got an alarm clock, if they set it, if they took good care of themselves, they remained clean and sober, if they spoke clearly, and they demanded excellence of themselves and provided excellence to their employers.”
Ouch!
Look man, I don't know if you really think you're doing Black people a "favor" with this ridiculous, take a shower and straighten yourselves up rap - as if you're Don Lemon or something - but I really don't think it's gonna fly.
Not when cold hard facts show that there is STILL Housing Discrimination against Blacks in America. Not in the '60's. NOW, dude.
Discrimination against blacks, Hispanics and Asians looking for housing persists in subtle forms, according to a new national study commissioned by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. Though less likely to face overt obstacles, like being refused an appointment to see a home, minority customers were shown fewer available units than whites with similar qualifications, the study found.
They were also asked more questions about their finances, according to the study, and given fewer offers of help financing a loan.
And these's still
job discrimination against blacks at companies as mainstream as Bank of America.
The U.S. Department of Labor fined Bank of America $2.2 million in back wages and interest, after 1,147 African-American job seekers claimed to have dealt with discriminatory hiring practices by the lender at their Charlotte, N.C., headquarters from 1993 to 2005, according to CNN.
The case, which was first filed by one African-American employee back in 2005, quickly grew to 1,200 class representatives.
And also
lending discrimination.
If you were black or Hispanic and wanted a home loan, a number of banks put you on a separate, more expensive track regardless of your credit score and gainful employment.
These rates, the Justice Department alleges, were based on the color of your skin -- practices that helped mushroom the extent of the U.S. housing crisis.
The pattern is becoming increasingly clear from a series of court settlements negotiated with lenders by the department and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau over the last three years with the likes of Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Suntrust and now PNC Financial Services Group.
The latest settlement, requiring PNC to pay $35 million, was announced on Monday, Dec. 23rd and covers the behavior of the National City Bank. The Cleveland-based bank was later purchased by Pittsburgh-based PNC.
And there's ongoing
racial profiling by police. And there's a giant
racial sentencing gap. And the likelihood of a white person who kills a black person and goes without being prosecuted because they claimed "self-defense" or "stood their ground" is about 300% greater.
http://thesocietypages.org/...
A finding of “justifiable homicide” is much more common in the case of a white-on-black killing than any other kind including a white and a black person. At PBS’s request, Roman compared the likelihood of a favorable finding for the defendant in SYG and non SYG cases, consider the races of the people involved. The data is clear, compared to white-on-white crimes, stand your ground increases the likelihood of a not-guilty finding, but only when a person is accused of killing a black person.
So this "
it's all in your head" jive, isn't selling. We know better. All of us do. Now one could argue that none of these particular obstacles is completely debilitating in and of themselves, and that with some luck, fortitude and perseverance black people can survive, rise above and surmount this endless steeple chase - and certainly I think they can - but then again why exactly should they be expected to constantly
work twice as hard and receive half the value of their efforts?
Y'know like all those Black musicians - from Chuck Berry to Little Richard to Hendrix, Funkadelic and those that followed from Mother's Finest, Living Colour, Bernard Fowler, Stevie Salas, Sevendust, King's X, Prince and Lenny Kravitz - who the industry tried hard to effectively drive out of Rock 'N Roll by giving their music to people like you, ripping off their musical ideas and pretending YOU had invented something that you didn't?
And even if this were anywhere close to a decent way to approach such a subject, exactly how sincere could you be after you've said you like to go Helicopter Hog Hunting over South Central?
Lots of places have a hog problem,” Nugent said. “In Texas, the hogs have a Ted problem.” He described the giddy joy of shooting from the open copter with an M4 machine gun. “And four hours later I had 450 dead hogs,” he said to loud applause. Then he added an afterthought that produced ample laughs: “And now if they would just take me to South Central. … Okay! I kid.”
Yeah, that's plenty funny. We can certainly feel the depth of your concern with that one.
It doesn't matter at a certain point. You've shown no respect for the twice duly elected President, for Black People, for Native People or for anyone that doesn't already share your twisted view of a fraction of the Constitution. It doesn't matter that you didn't technically call Native Americans "Unclean Vermin" - you have repeatedly, and clearly found it necessary to reduce your ideological opponents to NON HUMAN STATUS.
"Unclean Vermin. Subhuman Mongrels. Hogs."
It would be something if just once, just once, you actually did try to have a debate about rational and reasonable gun policy using actual facts or figures, or something resembling reality, [for example what exactly is the good reason why we shouldn't have universal background checks - wouldn't that prevent the bad guys from getting weapons that they can hurt "good guys" with? Why exactly shouldn't we have a Temporary Weapons Restraining Order for people who've shown signs of mental distress and/or issued violent threats?] but apparently you think the "Vermin/Mongrel" thing is actually working for you.
You are a Bigot. You are a Hater. You are a Propagandist. You are a Stochastic Terrorist.
You don't deserve our hate, or our fear. You're simply aren't worthy of either because you're a blowhard, a coward and a mediocre guitarist at best. Tommy Shaw your former bandmate from Damn Yankees plays rings around you, man. Why were you even there? So does Joe Perry. So does Joe Walsh. So does Steve Miller. So does Nuno. So does John 5. So does Satriani. So does Slash. So does Ty Tabor. So does Jimi Hazel. So does Victor Johnson. So does Tom Morello. So does Buckethead. So does Jack White. The dude from Fucking Nickleback can outplay your ass. You're just plain pathetic.
At worst you're a punchline. At best you deserve our pity, as nothing but your own ridiculous words are driving the ashes of your one-and-a-half-hit-wonder career even further into the dustbin of history.

"If you're going to say something political, you're going to have some backlash, it doesn't matter who you are or what you say," said Larry Magid, a Philadelphia-based promoter who has handled Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, and Bette Midler. "Nugent seems to have taken it to extremes. I don't know that you can blame anyone for not wanting to play him for all of the baggage that he brings."
Magid, who also organized the famed 1985 Live Aid benefit show in Philadelphia, said Nugent was never a huge concert draw, but his declaration earlier this year that President Barack Obama is a "subhuman mongrel" may mark a turning point.
"I don't know if that is frustration at not being a viable act, but it is stupid," Magid said of Nugent. "If you are a musician, you are trying to bring your music, your art to a broad group of people. It is one thing to take a stance, it is another thing when you are talking about the president of the United States.
"For all of the people enamored with him, there are 20 or 30 or 40 times that who are not enamored with him. To me, it's not bright. If I'm a promoter I have to think two or three or four times before I take a shot with this performer."
