Received this e-mail today from State Senator Jason Carter's (D. GA) gubernatorial campaign:
Jason knows that education is the most pressing issue facing our state, which is why we are excited to announce Teachers for Carter. This effort will engage teachers directly, provide forums for discussion, and strengthen the voice and vote of teachers during this important election year.

Too often teachers are demonized as the problem. But we know that creative, energized and supported teachers are part of the solution.
Since 2009, Georgia public schools have lost 9,000 teachers while the number of students has risen. As a public school teacher myself, I understand how the constantly changing standards and larger class sizes makes our jobs much harder.
If you're a teacher, sign up now to join Teachers for Carter. We want to know what you are facing in the classroom and let you know how to engage with our campaign. If you're not a teacher, take a moment and forward this e-mail along to any teachers you know: Forward To A Friend.

Together, we can reach thousands of teachers across this state and get them engaged in a different approach to education in Georgia--an approach that treats teachers with respect and supports our teacher workforce with the resources, opportunities and flexibility they need to be successful in the classroom.
Sincerely,
Kate
