Received this e-mail today from former Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto's (D. NV) U.S. Senate campaign:
A lot of bad ideas pass through Congress, and we count on our elected representatives to look them over, debate, and stop them before they become law.
But right now, Congress is considering “fast tracking” a secretive, sweeping trade agreement – with no chance for debate or amendment.
I’m running for Senate to represent Nevada families, so I can’t stand seeing this Congress rubber-stamp a bad deal and leave so many American families with no one on their side. Without oversight, the Trans-Pacific Partnership could put American jobs at risk, lower wages, and derail our hard-won economic recovery.
That’s just not how our government should work. I’m standing against fast track – and I need you to stand with me before it’s too late. Will you sign our petition urging Congress to say no to fast track authority?

We’re not just worrying for no reason: A bad trade deal could have devastating effects on Nevada families. With so much at stake, Congress has to get this one right, with time for debate and amendments to protect American workers.
But with fast track, Congress could recklessly rubber-stamp the Trans-Pacific Partnership without a full, public debate.
I’m committed to standing up for American workers. I need you to stand up with me now and tell Congress: We can’t rush through this, not when the consequences for American workers could be devastating.
Please, join me in telling Congress to say no to the fast track.
