It would look a lot like the current refugee crisis in Europe. Except much MUCH bigger. Europe is struggling to handle an estimated half million migrants flowing into the continent. Mass deportation of American undocumented workers would dump 11 million people on the other side of the border. What would happen to them then?
On the positive side: It would open up all those good middle-class jobs for American workers
- fruit, vegetable, dairy and meat production jobs
- changing sheets and diapers at nursing homes, and manning the laundries
- lawn maintenance workers (Although I would NOT miss the leaf blowers)
- restaurant workers
- construction workers
- home repair and renovation
- movers
- ditch diggers for plumbing companies, swimming pool companies, new construction
- cleaning out dangerous chemical tanks--often dying in the process
- janitors and maids
Have any of the candidates really thought this through? I didn't think so.
