There are a few enduring mysteries in the world. What happened before the Big Bang, what happens to us when we die, and how was Joe Piscopo ever funny? The former Saturday Night Live alumnus and body-building enthusiast who married his son’s nanny has reportedly met to discuss the idea of running for governor of New Jersey with none other than current Governor Chris Christie.
Formerly a Democrat, Piscopo is now an independent and would run as a Republican, said sources, who said he met with Christie on the subject for about half an hour.
Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, a Republican from Somerset County, has already announced his candidacy; and LG Kim Guadagno is expected to kick off after the presidential election.
My guess is that the two men discussed their love of Frank Sinatra and how “things used to be” before the crushing idea that these two men only really have careers because of the reflected glory they received by standing next to impressive black men. In Christie’s case it was Obama doing an extensive Hurricane Sandy walk-around with him; and with Joe Piscopo, well, no one was funnier than Eddie Murphy.
Here are two clips: the first is Joe Piscopo working with Eddie Murphy on SNL. The second clip is Joe Piscopo doing his best Donald Trump impression on Alex Jones’ show a month ago.
