In case you don't know me, my name is TheLittleOne, or TLO. Befitting my name, I am twelve years old and in the seventh grade. Just a warning, I do have a little bit of sarcasm at appropriate times in this diary, as do I in other diaries. My dad is Glen The Plumber, and my mom is remembrance. Together we have bird dogged President Obama hoping to pressure him to reject the Keystone XL pipeline. We worked to support a congressperson, Mike Honda, for almost four years non-stop. I guess you could say, we have a pretty hectic life.
Here’s the thing, if you like this diary and any others I have done, if you have read them, then you have to thank Patriot Daily News Clearinghouse, not me. It was she that brought me here. And if you don't like my stuff, which you should love my stuff of course, you can blame me on her. She invited me to do a blog-a-thon when I was nine. It was my first diary I had ever written. The blog-a-thon was about climate change, it was called, “Hummingbirds.” Since then I have written for Kitchen Table Kibitzing (KTK) and done independent diaries too. I met important people like, Navajo, Meteor Blades, Citisven, and Elfling. We even talked to Bill Mckibben for a moment while he was being arrested for civil disobedience at a rally against Chevron.
This fundraiser is for someone we all know and love. PDNC was diagnosed with cancer around the same time as my mom. My parents told me a few weeks ago that PDNC’s cancer had returned, and that it had spread in her body. PDNC is sick. I know what you're thinking, “ Wow TLO state the obvious.” Yeah I know, but she is important to me and to many, many other people too. When I started this diary Bill Mckibbens’ diary was at the top of the rec list, and as I write this it is still at the top of the rec list. Lets face it, she's awesome.
I know some people don't believe in or don't have hope for things. And sometimes it seems hope itself doesn't accomplish anything. But if you use that hope as fuel and persevere and most importantly believe in yourself you can accomplish much. Hope is important. Hope is something you need to use for everyday life. Sometimes hope doesn't seem like enough, but it is.
The burden that PDNC is dealing with is intense. Paying for a medical treatment is something that she shouldn't have to focus on. If we can help her in any way, I mean, she wouldn't want me operating on her, but I can help by doing stuff like this. I can help raise awareness, and I can help get the word around that she needs money to pay for treatment expenses her insurance doesn’t cover. If we raise this money for her, she can focus on healing. You just have to have hope that she will get better, that is all we can do. Unless you are her doctor, well, then you need to get to work. And also if you haven't please donate to her. She needs $30,000 and last I checked she had $12,787.
