Welcome to Backyard Science’s The Daily Bucket. Please let us know what goes on around you in a comment. Your weather, the birds at your feeder, a pretty flower, and your favorite tree, are all fine topics. Please include your general area, and any related photos. We love photos!
I’ve endlessly witnessed the daytime visitors to my backyard; juncos, robins, flickers, rushes, and those thrilling moments when a hummingbird, heron, or hawk swing by.
I know much less about who visits after dark; raccoons, skunks, and pooties (cats) are pretty sure bets. The snow often dusts northwest Oregon during its winters, leaving some short-lived evidence of the nocturnal animals that track through my yard.
They peeked into the water, but moved on without destruction.
NOW IT’S YOUR TURN
What have you noted in your area or travels? As usual, please post your observations and general location in your comments. I’ll respond in between working on an endless list of garden chores.
"Spotlight on Green News & Views" will be posted every Saturday at 5pm Pacific Time and every Wednesday at 3:30 Pacific Time on the Daily Kos front page. Be sure to recommend and comment in the diary.
